If Butch was hired instead of Richt

Butch won't happen, maybe should have after Coker was let go. Thing depressing to me is after only 4 games I highly question the hire of Handy Manny. If he goes 6-6 or worse can we not fire him in this day and age? NFL teams do it all the time after 1 season.

I wonder what his buyout is? You'd think a guy with no experience and who was the third choice for Temple wouldn't have much. But we have Blake James who I believe is still writing Al Golden Checks.

Miami would be a better program today. As talented as the 2000-2002 teams? The equal of Alabama and Clemson? Probably not.

No. But I’m not the one calling them a respectable program..but if Golden can do what he did at temple..I’d imagine Butch the gawd would be able to beat New Hampshire..or at least duplicate what Cristobal did there

I'm not calling them respectable. I'm saying they're as respectable as they can be. They're not going to be a great team any more than FAU or Rice. With these smaller programs, there's a whole lot more than just coaching. In addition to the school administration and coaching staff, there's the fact that no CUSA team is attracting talent that has the option of a P5 school.

I'm not going to sit here defending Butch. All I ever said was if we are going to suck, then if we had Butch at least we could put to rest all of the BBB speculation. That is neither an endorsement of BBB or an indictment of Butch. For the record, I just want to be back, I don't care who takes us there.

If nothing else, we'd know if 95-00 was lightning in a bottle or if he was destined to be a Hurricanes legend.

I know we're gonna give Manny at least a couple of years, but facing another couple seasons of likely disappointment really hurts.

After Manny is fired in 4yrs we can hire Butch. He’ll be 80

Where would we be right now. I know one thing for sure... we be ******* loaded with talent!!!! LOADED
From 2008 to 2014 – Davis was the head coach from 2007 through 2010 – no school in the ACC had more players selected in the first round than UNC
He left them full for four years after he moved on. Just like he did at Miami TWICE

In a worse position

richt is 1000000000x better than butch

Butch has taken a true dumpster fire FIU to 2 bowl games. he would have hired a competent staff
and he can recognize and close on talent. Also last time we dominated the LOS was when we had a great S&C program as well. not sure what what wrong when he left for Browns Donna and Paul went cheap most likely
but since B.Davis players have left we have certainly have defined mediocrity for 15+ years no matter who the coaches are in Coral Gables. have to stick with manny thru learning curve and give him $$$$ to hire a staff.
how long before the BOT takes a hard look at B.James ??

Mario Cristobal took FIU to 2 straight bowl games

Howard started it. Butch was Jimmys talent finder and built the roster that won Jimmys ring. He built the teams Erickson won with. He built Cookers team. FWIW if you think his 71-51 record is what defines Butch, than you don’t know **** about Miami football. FWIW he took us off of probation 35 ships down and put us BACK. The “BACK” you don’t know anything about.

Lmao so Butch was responsible for Jimmy and Erickson winning in his 4 years as a DL coach 🤣🤣..I honestly remember ppl said the same about Saban and Kirby smart when they were together ..which ofc was wrong

Tate would be starting, Brevin would have 15 receptions a game and the penalties would be decreasing not increasing at wk 4
