Can you also show how much each of these schools have brought in from donations over the last 10 years? That's where you will see why they are not concerned with Football. I agree its maddening because you could run Miami football like a business and make 50 mill and we would keep that legacy moving forward, but in reality that's just a drop in the bucket to the overall University.
Shalala put this school on a path to dominate the region academically and to be known as one of the top medical research schools in the country. Her legacy was always geared toward education. The NCAA mess was a massive failure and only added risks to her endeavors.
How does the Miami medical image coincide with the Miami bad boy image? Rich parents don't want to send their kids to schools that have thug images. This administration as well as hers were smart enough to know that they could make more dough off of Miami football, but the question has always been what risks do you take on to make 50 mill max? Can you imagine the Miami bad boy image working at Harvard?
She wanted to compete with the Dukes in the world and could care less about competing with the FSUs. The current administration are her clones.
Donations wise it's probably a push. All schools raise money, and yes Miami has great academics...it's always had great academics, but it also was incredibly good at both.
Look at what Stanford did last night to UCLA...you can be savage on the football field and be an incredible at academics...Even Duke who is notorious for basketball excellence is actually doing better than us.... DUKE IS BETTER AT FOOTBALL than UM... DUKE.
So that excuse of oh well you have to be an academic school or be bad at football is a total myth. Nobody looks at Stanford and says...Wow what a bunch of thugs...
You guys better get ready to kill yourselves. Miami isn't coming away with anybody worth a **** with the current openings and if the potential good ones come to fruition. Miami is not a destination for any of these good coaches. Miami offers up nothing to them that they can't get elsewhere. It's been proven many times over that you can win at other schools not named Miami. Besides all the lack of support from the admin at Miami and facilities, what coach wants to play in the Coastal Division. Too many negatives at the school in this day and age of college football. Why come to Miami and deal with a mound of crap when you can go coach at a school that wants and desires strong football at their respective locations.
Miami blew it when they had the football world by the balls and a bunch of momentum.
They have to be willing to spend some money. Or hire Butch and give him full support. It's really that simple.
Anybody that Luther Campbell suggests after he mentions Butch in an effort to legitimize his other picks.
Mario, and Trestman to a slightly lesser extent.
Butch Davis. Man has not been involved in coaching for a very long time.

You mean like his suggestion of Dana Hologram? I about keeled over from laughing when I saw that.
Let's play a new game regarding Golden's hypothetical replacements.
Just based off of names that have been tossed around here by sauces, opinions, guesstimates, stupidity, etc., I'll say:
- Gene Chizik
- Mario Cristobal
- Hue Jackson
- Mike Leach
- Al Golden
