Where does does all this faith in turning it around in year FOUR come from?
The display Monday night was more than enough for me. The Canes lost by 18 points to a mediocre team, with less talent, and more question marks than Miami. This does not occur within a well coached and developed program after FOUR years. The loss was terrible and embarrassing to the legacy of this program.
I don't think anyone is professing any great faith that anything will turn around. But we are 1 game into this season. We don't know how this season will play out yet. Im not going to sit there and throw a ****ing temper tantrum, and root for our team to lose, because I think Golden sucks, or that he is going to fail here. If he fails, he will be fired. And we will move on. But Im going to root for our team to win. Because Im a Canes fan, not only when we are "winning", but always. And **** YES I want to win, I HATE losing. And if/when Golden fails, I will be right there to say he needs to go. But we haven't even played our 2nd game yet. Im not just going to give up on the whole f*cking season in the 1st week of September, because our OC **** the bed, and we ****ed up with a True Frosh making his first start on the road. Yes, this team has other issues, but it has enough talent, that if this staff can pull its **** together, can get us to the ACCCG. I would like to see guys like Duke, and DP and Chick leave this program as winners, at least having played for an ACCCG. Maybe even having won a bowl game. That's what I WANT. Not more failure.
So yeah, I don't give a f*Ck about Golden either way. Its not my life's obsession to see him burned or fired or to hate him to the ends of the Earth. If he can get it together, great, because I want to see the team succeed. And if he cant, and he flops on his face in year 4, then its time to move on. But I said from the beginning I was going to wait and see how this season played out, and that's what Im going to do.
Because I remember in 2000, when we lost to UW in that second game. People were in a RAGE. The Fire BUTCH hysteria was at FULL FORCE. That was supposed to be "our year". And we ended u ripping off the rest of the season undefeated, and everyone STFU and suddenly Butch walked on water.
So since Nick Saban and Jon Gruden aren't currently arm wrestling to see who gets to be the new coach at UM, and waiting in the wings, I figure we might as well just wait and see how the season plays out, and then have the blood bath later. There really is NO point in this **** now. **** its not like anyone really thought this team was going to go undefeated anyway. At least half these boards thought we would lose at UL as it was. Granted no one expected Coley's **** show of an offense, but one can only hope that even Golden realized what a cluster**** of a mistake that was, and that it cant happen again. IF they cant get it fixed, they WILL FAIL. IF they FAIL, they will be GONE. What will come, will come.
