I love d$ but I hope he’s off the arch love fest after this…

What flashes bro.

Seriously.

What are you looking at that tells you this guy isn’t trading on his last name alone.
He’s looking at something he has no clue on how to evaluate. That’s your answer right there.
The NFL values Arch way more than the fans.

Does that mean they are right? Of course not. That story is still being written, and they get things wrong like everyone else.

But you always talk about real football experience and seem to ignore that the “football people” are much more in line with my thinking on this.

And almost zero pocket awareness on top of that.
That was on display in the first half. His line gave him good protection. But at some point you have to know it breaks down. He sat in the pocket like he was eating lunch. Then he got pummeled. He was literally standing there like a statue. What exactly did he think was going on?

Yeah, a bunch of idiot GM’s that value his last name and those same GM’s won’t have jobs in a few years. Don’t give me that nonsense D, I know this game and I know what my eyes see and my eyes see a quarterback on the level of Tyler Van Dyke. I’m actually amazed that you still have your heels Dug in on this. This is getting to old Petey boy level last year with the defensive line. Smh here’s the end all with it D, he’s in year four and he still can’t anticipate throws and windows. That’s not gonna cut it in the NFL, sir. Also, use your own eyes, who cares what NFL GM’s think, they’ve shown year in and year out that they don’t even know what they’re looking at half the time. Smh

His inconsistency reminds me of Beck, stud throw one moment then dud the next, at least Beck got better and achieved more. Manning will have to develop mental toughness because the jury is still out against him. I think he plays nervous and forces stuff.

Dmoney watching Arch today n the rest of the szn......

CJ Bailey too

I keep hearing the “GMs will value his last name” line.

When does that actually happen? The last time I heard this was with Eli Manning, who ended up winning two Super Bowls and throwing for a million yards.

If anything, these legacy first rounders actually overperform relative to the average first round pick (McAffrey, Watt, Matthews x2, Horn, Surtain).

Beck was a 72% passer last year. That was through 16 games. He was very consistent outside of Ville game. His problem was the deep ball with an elbow that was still healing. His consistency got him drafted in 3rd round. You can bet Texas would trade for Beck right now if they could. Conversely, Manning was a 61% passer last year and 63% this year. Comparing their accuracy is foolish.

I'm in the talent camp but he'll be a project.
Decision-making bad at this point. Doesn't know when to give up on a play and a gunslinger.
Worth watching imo

They have to roll him out and limit him to 1-2 reads and run. When he drops back in the pocket he can’t process the information quick enough to get off his first read.
And this is the problem, this is a game plan for a freshman starting a quarterback. Not a guy that’s in year four.

Great game to watch. Some big mistakes late. Needs to be turn the flashes into consistency.
His throwing mechanics are a train wreck. He consistently misses wide open short/intermediate throws that decent HS QB's make with 90% consistency.

He isn't a 2nd year player. Manning's in his 4th year at Texas. He's had the best QB coaching money can buy since he was in his crib. He is what he is.
SAY IT AGAIN!!! I been waiting for someone to call out the other issues Manning has besides “processing.” His COTDAM mechanics suck.

@DMoney posted a clip of a long TD pass that Arch threw as his attempt at some sort of Napoleonic moment on Elba before he bends the knee to the fact that Arch sucks. If you watch that clip, look at Arch’s feet when he releases the ball. Then look at where the ball placement was. His receiver had to make a great catch because the pass wasn’t real accurate. Arch had broken out of the pocket, had a mike of space in front of him and the WR was wide open. Pass wasn’t real accurate and was actually about 3” away from being an incompletion.

Also, for any of the folks who remember when Tony Romo was first flashing for the Cowboys, the fans and press started hammering Parcells about why he wouldn’t name Romo the starter. I still remember what Parcells said… you guys (the press) see flash plays in scrimmages and preseason games. I see his other plays where he makes mistakes that could cost us games. That’s not a quote cuz I didn’t google, but it certainly captures the spirit of what he said. Parcells’ point was simple. A couple really bad plays can wipe out a mountain of good plays. That’s Arch…minus the mountain of good plays.
