I love d$ but I hope he’s off the arch love fest after this…

SAY IT AGAIN!!! I been waiting for someone to call out the other issues Manning has besides “processing.” His COTDAM mechanics suck.

@DMoney posted a clip of a long TD pass that Arch threw as his attempt at some sort of Napoleonic moment on Elba before he bends the knee to the fact that Arch sucks. If you watch that clip, look at Arch’s feet when he releases the ball. Then look at where the ball placement was. His receiver had to make a great catch because the pass wasn’t real accurate. Arch had broken out of the pocket, had a mike of space in front of him and the WR was wide open. Pass wasn’t real accurate and was actually about 3” away from being an incompletion.

Also, for any of the folks who remember when Tony Romo was first flashing for the Cowboys, the fans and press started hammering Parcells about why he wouldn’t name Romo the starter. I still remember what Parcells said… you guys (the press) see flash plays in scrimmages and preseason games. I see his other plays where he makes mistakes that could cost us games. That’s not a quote cuz I didn’t google, but it certainly captures the spirit of what he said. Parcells’ point was simple. A couple really bad plays can wipe out a mountain of good plays. That’s Arch…minus the mountain of good plays.

Yep. It was a **** pass

The NFL values Arch way more than the fans.

Does that mean they are right? Of course not. That story is still being written, and they get things wrong like everyone else.

But you always talk about real football experience and seem to ignore that the “football people” are much more in line with my thinking on this.

So “football people” are like “baseball people?”

What flashes bro.

Seriously.

What are you looking at that tells you this guy isn’t trading on his last name alone.
He’s looking at something he has no clue on how to evaluate. That’s your answer right there.

Why can’t you say something to the effect of:

“Despite Arch failing to come near his lofty expectations out of high school, his lack of development by Texas, his poor mechanics and his continued mistakes when lights shine brightest, Arch will likely be taken in the first round by some team NFL team because of his traits (and pedigree).”

That statement is tough to argue with. The parenthetical is optional. I included it because I believe that to be the case. The rest is factual. Instead, you keep pumping sunshine on this guy. Hence the strong pushback.

@DMoney

I keep hearing the “GMs will value his last name” line.

When does that actually happen? The last time I heard this was with Eli Manning, who ended up winning two Super Bowls and throwing for a million yards.

If anything, these legacy first rounders actually overperform relative to the average first round pick (McAffrey, Watt, Matthews x2, Horn, Surtain).

But it’s not consistent yet and it’s Year 4. He hasn’t made the jump.

This? You see that play all over CFB weekly. Dudes wide open and he still places the ball so poorly the guy has to make a circus catch.
Arch sucks but that’s not in any way a circus catch

Maybe not a circus catch, but let’s not pretend that it’s a dime either.

If his name wasn't Manning, he would be a Van Dyke... I mean the Tyler kind

Facts

D$ is my guy and I hope he reads these cuz if his last name was Smith nobody would freaking care. I don’t and his last name is Manning. Arch can’t process for ****🤣🤣🤣
All d coordinators have to do is speed him up. He’s a better athlete than his uncles that’s why Finebaum and D$ like his talent and his last name. He is a good athlete, that’s his superpower. That’s it🤣🤣🤣

He doesn’t have anything else.
I still wouldn’t call him a bum or bust but he ain’t it fellas.
The NFL GM that drafts him is going to have egg all over his face.

No way I would draft his *** if I was a GM no way🤣🤣🤣🤣

His inconsistency reminds me of Beck, stud throw one moment then dud the next, at least Beck got better and achieved more. Manning will have to develop mental toughness because the jury is still out against him. I think he plays nervous and forces stuff.

Becks best attribute was his consistency and intelligence lol.

His issue was that when he did make the rare error he let them compound in crucial moments.

Arch won’t have a choice but to stay when he receives a 4th round draft grade.
Lets be real he's going in the first off name n hype alone, probably top 15.
Somehow this all gets ignored and I guess D Money hasn’t been talking to the right “NFL” people but even BEFORE this season, guys like Todd McShay were hearing that they wouldn’t be surprised if he returned to college for another year in 2027 because arch and the people around him feel like he needs more development.

Throughout this whole thing, everyone’s in Mannings camp have been very realistic about where he is in his development and have tried to tamper expectation.

Mickey Loomis of the Saints would be the only one capable of doing so, given his ownership and his city being Arch’s (and the Manning family) hometown. He has been in the GM position for going on 25 years.

All that being said, it’s only if he has no one else he wants in the fifth round.

He should/could come back for more "Development" i guess but if he declared after this szn there's a 0% chance he slides to the fourth.

Trumpycane thinks Arch is lucky his name isn’t Arch Jones otherwise he’d have the same result as Ewers

Lawrence is at American Heritage and he played at Northwestern last year in a loaded team with 5 stars Nick Lennear and Calvin Russell. where they lost in the state championship game against Jacksonville Raines. I saw him play and I would say that he is very talented, Lawrence definitely has some development to do. Lawrence is much better than the other 5-star QB at Texas, Dia Bell, from American Heritage, but I think he lacks some of the traits that elite QBs have.

He can develop those traits, but Texas might not be the best place to do it based on what I have seen with 5-star Manning

Yep Arch has been super MID on the field his entire career but he's **** near going in the Top 10 in every NFL Mock Draft you see.
