(I’m Hoping for Some) A. W. News

FIFY, this is a hot potato for everyone involved, and its a 50/50 decision, so half the folks will be ****ed/disappointed at the outcome. My personal opinion has not changed, dont want him back on the team.

Yep.

And, of course, the whole world is divided into "Free Tae" and "Shun Tae". There are none of us who just want to see the process play out, and would accept whatever determination comes down, as long as it is fair and not some cover-up (on anyone's behalf)...

Not saying its impossible but after 4 years do we keep hoping and wishing? I would argue we had worse DB coaching before Banda and our safeties performed much better. I'm never rooting against players but I believe at a point you are who you are.
Gurvan does not have a “dog” mentality. He just treats the game like a game. He could be good if he had that mindset but he doesn’t. T-Rob will improve his game but I don’t see him being an NFL guy. At least not a starter

I think the alleged victim recanting is huge here and her saying she was basically forced into a statement by the cops.

If the prosecutors declined to file charges because the alleged victim did not want to prosecute but never denied the facts on the arrest affidavit, there would likely be no chance he would be back.

She has given the university an easy way out. She said it did not happen.

That should be the main argument for reinstatement.

To be honest, I can see more of an outrage if he isn’t reinstated especially if he turns out to be an all American at another school.

It will once again show us that this administration is still not serious about football.

Anyone think this would be an issue at Bama? Shoot Crab Legs raped someone and he still played.
Kinda what happened to Bolden before he got here right? Accused of something, turned out to be false, already kicked out, and now he is balling out here.

He will likely test well, athleticism alone will probably get him a few looks. I think his issues have always been mental. He is slow to react and hesitant in coverage, neither are enduring qualities of a safety.

ehh he's not entirely wrong because the school did undergo a very hard left turn, but not in the way he describes.

it didn't happen much under shalala. she actually made an effort to keep the university as apolitical and neutral as possible.

the main driving force behind a lot of the "woke" stuff is pat whitely and her stooges in student affairs. she was the president of naspa (professional org for college admins) for a bit and brought back a ton of stupid initiatives to make the university tick all of the boxes in a school brochure. frenk is a figurehead that no one actually respects, so if she decides that she wants to jump on the latest thing it's going to happen.

Pat Whitely...yeah, I'm just going to keep my mouth shut. Not even get started on that one.

Most non-UM-alums (and even some UM alums) really fail to differentiate between faculty and administration. UM students are much more impacted by any sort of political activism at the administration level. And no matter how many propagandists try to convince you that the greatest threat in America is the teaching of college professors, that is a monumental joke. There is not some widespread "liberalism" coursing through the largest single College/School at UM, the School of Business (and, no, I'm not counting the College of Arts & Sciences, which is more of a decentralized federation of majors, compared to the School of Business).

If you want to know how ANY particular viewpoint impacts the day-to-day lives of university students, whether it is at Liberty University or the University of Miami, it is in the ADMINISTRATION. Housing. Student Affairs. Student Activities. The list goes on.

Not some random law school professor.

This stuff with Avantae is probably the best thing that could’ve happened to him, Bc he would be losing his job sooner than later. Now he’s probably got the starting job all season, whether Tae is brought back or not, they will keep him as the starter

If anything happened at all, I don’t think it’s to the extent some people think it is. “Hitting” a girl sounds bad in any context. This girl is pregnant with his child, she was living in his apartment, and he was cheating on her and she found out. I would never rule out the possibility of her getting mad enough to try and hit him too, especially if he told her to leave. That’s more than enough to get a female upset. Only her and him know what happened though, but I find it annoying how some people are making it sound like she had a black eye and a busted lip or something. It tells me a lot that the girl stated she was not “fearful” or “worried” about Avantae hurting her. Not many people talk about that quote
It does make him kind of an @$$hole though.

As scary as this is, I dont think we have any reason to believe otherwise. Although Kam kitchens should get some serious looks if his play matches reports.
