How Would You Fix the Team/Program Going Forward

this Flagg bashing is still unreal. week after week he lea

bingo on the option route. This is where TvD misses Restrepo the most. Both of them have said they watch a lot of film together and TVD knows exactly what/ where Restrepo will be on these option routes.
Yeah we have underestimated the significance of losing X.

1) Recruiting (we need to stack talent and have top ten classes moving forward)
2) Culture (it's been rotten for 18 years, and complacency and mediocrity have been the norm for a generation of rosters)
3) Staff (Gattis is gonna sink or swim. If he sinks, we need to shake up the O staff)

Other than that, there's no immediate solution. This is going to be a top to bottom rebuild. At least this season and next to establish a program that can consistently win 9 games a year and 3-4 years to being relevant nationally.
Recruiting is the least of our problems. Look at wake forest. They have like 1 4* player & they ball out!!! They have gone to the ACCG more than us. Coaching and culture two biggest factors.

Don't disagree with this, but they have a cohesive roster for their program and culture. Clawson's been there for a while. I do think once the cultural rot is sorted out here, there will be a significant jump in play. Also, to go beyond what Wake does, we do need elite recruiting.

TVD needs to sit and transfer out. We are going to lose one of the QBs to the portal this year anyway.
I'd rather take my chances with Garcia this year and next from what I see right now.
TVD ain't making it to the NFL. So I don't want him hanging on for another year.
It is Garcia or bust .. TVD has had his chances and blown it. Time to move on.

Everyone on here likes to act as if they have the answer to the myriad of problems this team currently faces. Amongst those issues are:

1. An anemic offense that fails to utilize proper spacing, is stubborn in its approach to run the ball even when the box is at a numbers disadvantage, and defecates all over itself in the red zone.

2. A quarterback that’s lost all confidence and seems to have rubbed his own teammates the wrong way, leading to a true QB controversy.

3. A roster full of guys who quite clearly play harder for others and quit when faced with the tiniest ounce of adversity, ready to point fingers or blame external factors for their poor play.

4. A coaching staff overall that is being paid like a top five staff, and yet is delivering inexplicably horrifying results.

5. A lack of loyalty from the area’s high school recruits and handlers, seemingly looking for an excuse to attend elsewhere (and honestly at this point, who could blame them?).

I could go on, but you get the point. Now with that being said, I’d love to hear from anyone regarding how they’d actually fix the issues - the immediate ones, and the long term outlook beyond 2022…instead of just yelling. I hate to be that guy, but we can’t give up this year when there’s still something to play for. Although Western Michigan is a solid G5 team, Pitt still found a way to lose to them after beating Tennessee in 2021, and yet still won an ACC Championship. We can at least get there, but that’s a different story and is going to take a massive internal change, and immediately.

Rattle off specifics. If you want Gattis fired, throw out some replacements. You want schematic changes for next weekend, name them. If you want players benched, go for it. Other coaches fired? Positions we need to attack in the portal? How many college ready guys do we need? How do we keep this recruiting class afloat?

Lot of questions, Lot of possible answers. I guess go on record for how you’d fix the short term and the long term, and we’ll see what actually ends up happening.

In all the bickering, we forget that every single of us do share one commonality: we all want Miami desperately relevant again.
1) HC and OC are foundational power run and pass. Its what got them here and would be HUGE red flag if they start making dramatic changes. If we wanted pass first (with no receivers who can catch) O, we should have hired the Pirate...WHO WOULD KILL IT ON GREENTREE🤣

2) Very tough to fix TVD now. He needs to transfer and get fresh start. This doesn't end well at all.

3) Recruiting better should deliver better results on field.

4) MTSU shows Miami has significantly overpaid across the board.

5) There are no more local recruits. Everyone, everywhere is now local with the reach of media.

Don't waste this year use it to evaluate the young players with potential and get them experience. Evaluate your staff and make adjustments everywhere they are needed. If he learned anything from Saban I hope it's that Saban will fire his mother if it means it makes the team more competitive.

#1Gattis must sink or swim this year . CMC must stay out of the way the rest of year on offensive side of ball this year and for the immediate future. let him( Gattis) determine his own fate as he is running the CMC offense that does not work
#2 Decide on a QB and ride it out, i favor Garcia as he seems more comfortable in this antiquated offensive structure and seems to be more of a vocal leader and will not let them quit.Do not create further issues with flipping back and forth on QB
#3 CMC has 2 jobs rest of year build mental toughness, what was MTSU doing dominating the LOS ?????, #2 responsibility focus 100% on on keeping incoming class together .
#4 If Gattis fails, hire Lebby or a Briles or an equivalent and give him the total freedom on Offense, CMC recognize what you do best run a program and recruit......
#5 recruiting find Studs , with character, big hearts and a never say die attitude. these studs might be 3*'s but we need a roomful of Ed Reeds,Ken Dorseys
who can lead as well as hold others accountable for a lack of effort and execution. we lack character as a program.
We’ve been getting whooped by 3 stars for years. The main issue with the program is recruiting which leads to the culture issues.

We are unable to identify diamonds in the rough. Our most highly touted skill players end up being the liabilities. I can go back to Sam Shields to Mark Pope. There’s a big list of busts.

Why is it Garcia or bust? We also have Jacurri Brown and he the most gifted QB we have as far as arm strength and athletic ability. Yes he is raw but so were a lot of other QB's I just don't understand how people think because at this point in time EVERYBODY SHOULD BE GIVEN A CHANCE.

1- put up or shut up for Gattis. TDs vs UNC or give the reigns to Ponce. If that happens fire Gattis at the end of the year and get a more appropriate OC- frost would be unbelievable. That silicone I’d be ok with a younger guy who has a slightly evolved version of the Lashlee offense.
2-TvD starts vs UNC and gets a vote of confidence. Bring some RPO concepts this week since Tyler seems most confident there. You have a bye to make some changes, do it. Mario understands what a leader looks like. Work with TVd to take more of a leadership role or empower someone else to lead this team. The QB doesn’t have to be the leader.
3- no more room for error. You *** up, next man in. If Flagg misses an open field tackle get the kids in there. 31&41 have limitless potential. Let them learn on the job. It’s not like the guys in front of them are getting things done. And where is 3? Gil is a football player. Get him on the field.
4- hard to answer this. Is this a Gattis and Steele issue? Are they listening to guys like ponce and strong. None of us really know. Mario is about accountability. Make the coaches accountable as much as the players.
5- not worried about recruiting. Mario will get his fair share. That’s the least of our concerns. The only position we are struggling with is WR and to be honest I can’t blame HS WRs if they don’t like the looks of our offense. If I were Mario though I’d have Jake dming every target and assisting them in their efforts to get some of these high end kids.

identifying HS talent that can develop at next level is tough. B.Davis was HOF in this skill set. star system works OK as their is film on every HS player in country. but it cannot measure "want to"
by 3 * i was refering to attitude, character, desire..... we are lacking something in eval process, amazing but i think Shields is still on an NFL roster. Pope was a 7 on 7 monster once the bullets started flying he was MIA

Recruiting, recruiting, recruiting. Them, have coaches that know what weapons they have, design plays to get maximum utility out of them. That’s what MT did. That’s what Tua said McDaniels was doing, and I see success in both cases.
So, talent was the reason we didn't beat Middle Tennessee State?

maybe he shouldve watched film with all WRs, not just Restrepo...

I would be a lot more optimistic about potential changes if some of the most significant adjustments weren't needed from a person who engaged in a scheme debate with a fan on Twitter.

Just real life: Gattis had questions hanging over him about his scheme and, despite all the efforts to bag on our WRs and preemptively displace blame, he's only amplified the worries.

I'll hold out some hope because it doesn't feel like I have much of a real choice, but many of the concerns exist from the beginning. And, the first 3 (scrimmage against Bethune doesn't count) games have only validated concerns.

1000% agree but would also posit that although I love the kid.....Restrepo wouldn't be anywhere near the #1 WR let alone the linchpin of the offense on any good college team this year. Not great. Just good. ****. Probably not even a significant number of mediocre ones.

I agree. He isn't that guy on most teams, but he is on this team. And as we know sometimes a player's value to team A is greater than that same player's value to any other team.

1. Bench anyone who was here under Richt and at least 2 years under Manny.

2. Revamp the entire roster via the portal.

3. Go all in on Kingsbury when the Cardinals fire him.

4. Bring Hankerson in as WR Coach and have him bring that Shanahan/McVay/McDaniel playbook with him.
