I liken this to the LSU bowl game. My heart is shredded. We had two weeks to know our opponent, and we let them do what they wanted to do, to US, their biggest f'n rival. Unacceptable. No excuses. Don't blame the players. If Al would've have implored Coley to keep his foot on the gas, we win easily. Jimbo knew Al would do what he did, and capitalized. We needed to score a touchdown before feeding the backs. Two scores isn't enough to hold down Rapist.

So simple, but so easily overlooked. How? Why?

Explain how we let off the gas pedal... Please do? Thanks

### If there was a second-guess --- offered by Kirk Herbstriet and others --- it was this: Should UM have played more aggressively in the second half?

Of UM’s first 17 first down plays, 10 were passes. But of UM’s next seven first-down plays before the final drive, six were runs. UM didn't do enough to exploit FSU's vulnerabilities in the middle of the field in the second half after doing it several times in the first half.

"We knew what was coming," Starks said of UM's second-half play calling. "Start running a couple more play actions and end arounds."

Another factor: After converting 8 of 11 third-downs in the first half, UM went 2 for 7 in the second half. UM entered converting 31 percent of its third down attempts, which was 117th in the nation.

It's right there man. Third downs are tougher when you run the ball on first and lose a yard, opposed to what was done in the first by taking shots and attacking the middle of the field.

In the first half we passed on 70+ percent on first down. In the second we ran 70+ percent on first down.

And on defense, we stopped playing nickel, even on obvious passing 3rd and longs. We took out Antonio Crawford and replaced him with Armbrister in the second half.

I could tell you more but I can't rewatch this fckery right now.

Its right there rewatch the game and look at the play by play? What is this jibberish ...

They completely changed their coverage to zone in the 2nd half and then at the end blitzed... ????? We missed coley on a bomb what about on the drives we dont get furst downs .... Be realistic here

And since when is running with duke johnson a bad play?..... So were running for 5 6 than 4 than 6 thats bad???

But we all have opinions... I dont see any let off the pedal lol... If they dont run duke and lose thw blame is we didnt use the bedt player we have... Come on

No offense dude...I know you have a connection to the current staff due to everything they've done for your son. If I were you I'd probably be defending Golden only cause I have kids and I can only imagine what you're going through.

But the guy simply is in over his head. He belongs at a smaller program. Four years is a big enough sample size to conclude this guy just doesn't have what it take against quality opponents to get it done.

We're something like 2-14 against teams that have finished the season with 8 or more wins. That's a "drop the mic and walk away" kind of stat.......

I don't mind running the ball, but maybe some play action in the mix. Seemed like everything went vanilla. But it's not all on the offense. Second half we got zero 4 man pressure on d and even the blitz was picked up most of the time.

You guys do whatever you can to put blame on the coaches. I'm far from a Golden supporter(or slurper as some of you immature kids say), but this game is on the players. We were up 23-10 and god forbid we run the ball with our best player. We didn't make enough plays down the stretch. It's that simple. The players lost that game. Golden didn't fumble twice, Golden didn't throw that pick, Golden didn't miss the EXP or FG, Golden sure didn't drop a TD pass(Berrios), and I know he didn't drop an INT(Kirby). Plays just weren't being made. The biggest thing I put on Golden is the poor clock management on the final drive(mainly on Coley I'd assume). Golden is also responsible for the lack of pass-rush in the front 4 considering he recruited them. AQM would've definitely helped big time. The run D broke down at the end of the game as well. Golden isn't perfect and like I said, I'm definitely not a fan of his but this loss is far from all on him. The GT, Nebraska, and Louisville games were mainly all on him with the defense scheme(or lack thereof). If Golden can continue to build this defense(start recruiting better) and keep the aggressive scheme we've seen the past 3 weeks, I see this team as the ACC Champs next year with Golden.

Without the specifics, I am depressed. We lost to frigging criminoles again. After half bottle of post game Jim Beam last last I decided to look for the bright side so as to not stay depressed all week. For the FIRST time, our staff out coached a top team's staff for a whole half of football. Dumbo made his adjustments and our staff still doesn't seem to know how to adjust to adjustments, but it is the first time we were not beat from the first play against good team. Also, for the first time against a good team, we did NOT get raped in front of a national audience. We just loss. Sadly, that is a massive improvement. It was Al's best coaching job. Had he done as well against NE, Loserville and GT, we would be shouting that we still belonged in the 4 team playoff. After supporting Al until late last year, I have been crying for his scalp as loud as anyone, but for me, I will give Al this week. We lost but Brad will beat FSU the next two years. Kid outplayed Rapist last night, period.
