I want Herman as the HC here, the question though still remains, does Herman want to coach here?

If we lock onto Herman, we need to show him why it is a better job than USCe. Should not be hard to do.

LULZ at dopes who think USCe is a better job than UM. A HOF HC, who won the SEC a million times at UF, couldn't even win the SEC once at USCe. Spurrier is a god there, and he never won the **** SEC. They've been a doormat the entire time they've been in existence.

If Herman doesn't land a gig at USC or Miami. I see no reason for him to even leave Houston. That program has the edge over every school outside of the Florida schools. Those schools are dead atm and he can easily build Houston to be an unstoppable force and either land a better gig or get them invited to the Big 12.

Anyone can look at Houston's opponents - for example who they've played THIS SEASON - and see that he can be a big fish in a little pond, and dominate for years.

He moves up to another, greater Power 5 conference, and now everything gets a lot harder.

Does this not apply to every single coach, ever?

You can credit five of these Miami teams to one man #BringBackButch

Amazing post that really articulates why Tom Herman is an elite coaching prospect. He is a once in a decade type of coach that is both SPECIAL and ELITE. We just so happen to be fortunate enough to be in the market for a coach during this cycle. I hope we put the full court press on Herman because if not he'll be racking up BCS wins and National Championships at one of The USC's.

Spurrier said he preferred the SC job because Florida fans were delusional and the SC fans treated him fair. Coaches get to actually choose for themselves what the best job is. If you have no fear you, you badly want to win a title or you covert the NFL you come to Miami. If you want to coach in front of sold out stadiums, get paid more money and not get flack by unrealistic fans you go to SC.

While Herman is my parallel choice alongside Butch, it's not like He took over a program that went 2-10 the year before...UH was 7-5 last year, including a bowl win. Seems to me like He took over an underachieving program, and is getting them to play to potential. If He doesn't take another gig, we'll get a clearer picture next year.

Herman would kill it here. His offense would work very well with the athletes south Florida produces.

As far as the stats ranking Florida over Georgia, they are a bit skewed. Florida has 2.2 million students enrolled compared to 1.3 million in Georgia.

Georgia High Schools

Further more I see 8,000 additional football players in FL according to
FL, GA, LA produce highest percentage of FBS football players

This thread may not be about that so back to Herman who is a beast.

Great article!

Yeah I felt that 33k number might've been a bit low but either way Florida is still the #1 school based on fbs signees. Glad to see Georgia pass California and Texas for the time being

I wish that data went further and reported based on p5 signees

Yeah all that really matters is total talent produced, which Florida still is number 1 and I don't see that changing for sometime. If you start breaking it down by position you will see Florida is way ahead in the skill positions which is why we need a more dynamic offense.

Man if that data broke it down based on position and power 5 schools we would really see something substantial. I'd be very curious to see which states produce the most p5 de, lbs, etc.

If by show, you mean offer him the same money they will then I agree, but will we do that? The thing with guys like Herman, is that they have egos big egos, as they should, but as far as he is concerned he may very well not care about the better job. He may only care about an adequate job, which USCjr most certainly is, and what he will get paid. Im sure Herman believes that he can take any team even an inferior product like USCjr and make them a perennial contender. Now if he does care about getting the better job from a ceiling standpoint, which Miami most certainly is, there is that other USC, the real USC that is looking for a coach also and he is from Cali. Point being is that if we hope to lock down a coach like Herman, the coach that I personally want, we are gonna really have to open up the check book. So the question is will we? History says we don't but hey its possible this is a new day, I hope it is, but I don't think we get Herman by showing him that Miami is the best choice alone, we gotta pay him, and pay him a lot.
