A college AD is a **** of a lot more work, for a **** of a lot less money, than an NFL GM. It's not a good trade, especially when you have been on the GM trajectory for ages.

The swimmers, all of whom fall under Title IX and who are in school on $65,000 scholarships. I would say that the AD needs to take care of swimming, too.

Highsmith has a lot of experience evaluating talented players. He doesn’t have experience hiring coaches or directing a program. Let alone being the AD of multiple programs. I have no doubt he’d be a great focus on football but question his capacity for hiring coaches. That being said, he’s much more qualified than Flake at anything in regards to sports.

Lol. He’s not coming here as a consultant. He’s the VP of player personnel for an NFL football team. He’s one step below being a GM. Coming to UM as an AD is barely a promotion. He’d be doing us a solid from that standpoint.

if he wants to be involved in football, recruiting, and boosters, give him some high level position but keep him away from the AD position. he is not qualified

Not after that season though. Some of the best has gotten fired. Pete Carrol got fired in NE. Andy Reid got let go in Philadelphia. Everyone gets fired mostly. Some coaches don’t become great unless they get fired at least once so they can learn

Kind of lines up with what people are saying about Blake doing the Manny deal by himself.

This would be true ONLY IF the UM BOT cared about having a winning football team. But they don’t
