Here's what I know

That brings me to the most important stat with Mario.

He's 4-1 against Top 10 teams.
It's not those games that worry us, because the vast majority of games are against non ranked teams, or teams ranked outside the top 10. That is when he has **** the bed over and over again. Arizona and Oregon St. last year, and then steamrolled by Iowa St. Imploded against the worst Stanford team I remember in a while this year, and destroyed by a #23 ranked Utah squad. I'm not convinced he beats a decent Oregon St team this weekend.

He does more with less every year, and him bringing Moorhead here absolutely terrifies me.

He's also lost twice to unranked teams when Oregon was in the top 6. Lost 5 times to unranked teams when Oregon has been ranked.

So you have the playing down to competition side as well.
Also true. That's why it's imperative for him to have aggressive, quality coordinators so they can help mitigate those ebbs.

They looked past it when Richt brought his son along because "we're getting a successful P5 coach". Then when it came time for little Richt and others to go, CMR chose to retire rather than fire his boy. It will be a whole different type of shytshow if they need to get off of Mario.
Come on man. I'm not going to defend ignorance. But we both know now that richt retired because of the Parkinson diagnosis. Conspiracy theories are fun but the richt situation ain't one of them. Yes I do agree he made bad decisions about his son. But his retirement was not one of them

Probably, but probably not 4-5 that went to his high school or played with him. It's not the same bruh.
So Mario should be disqualified?

He’s not exactly Manny in terms of his experience & track record. He’s a top 10-15 Head coach in CFL.

Kiffin aside, you want coach # 25 on the list because he’s not connected?

Do you want to tout the COVID year championship or not? We can, but let's not pretend it was a good year for them after finishing 3rd in their own division.

COVID year or not, we're still staring 3 losses per year in the face. It's not miles better than what we have now, it's 2 wins better.

Those recruiting classes are nice until everyone is ****ed we're still somehow losing to UNC and VT regularly despite being more talented on paper. And he sure had his team prepared to play at Utah with a playoff spot on the line; just like in 2019 at Arizona State.

I agree we won't be bad Miami, but we won't be great either. Mario Cristobal can be our very own Jim Harbaugh. Good enough to break our hearts, but not good enough to gain our eternal love.

Horrible take on so many levels. But you have to love a poster who uses a coach that is currently 10-1 and is still alive for a conference and a national championship on November 22 as their example of downside. 🤣

He's, at ABSOLUTE worst, competent.

I'll take that. I was at Clemson in 2020. I was in Atlanta in 2021. I was in Orlando in 2019. WE LOST TO FIU, DUKE, AND LOUISIANA TECH IN 3 STRAIGHT ******* WEEKS. I've had enough. This is so ridiculous. Yes, Mario is far from a sure thing. But who in the name of all ******* things holy is a sure thing that is available to us? I love Lane Kiffin, but would anybody be shocked to turn on WSVN on a Wednesday morning and see him being led out of Scarlett's in handcuffs with a thong tied around his face and covered in cocaine??? I hope I'm there that night, by the way, but I don't coach at Miami. So, I'd LOVE him, but he's not a sure thing. Nobody is.

Yeah, Mario got blown out last week. Yes, he has had a few games where somehow they lost when they had the game all but won. But I just want to be competent, for once. I want to look prepared, one god**** time. I want to be tougher than someone else. We made Sam ******* Howell look like Earl Campbell. Just bring me someone who won't make me completely embarrassed to say I'm a supporter to Miami football. I'm almost certain Mario Cristobal can give that to us. A championship? I have no idea. But he won't be a laughingstock.
Legendary Post OBM....being led out in handcuffs with a thong tied around his face covered in Yayo...i'm dying LOL

Kyle Whittingham is 2-1 against Mario and there may be another game this season.

I thought that would have to be one of the qualifications. Might as well fit the narrative of what people think Miami is. Kiffin would be classic. I'm OK with either. I'd worry about Kiffin bolting more than I would Mario though.

I’m making a point , not literally having a debate. I’m the guy who said I’m ok with Lane as a plan B even though i know what a sleaze ball he is off field and the possibility he could cause embarrassment to Miami. That’s leaving out the less than impressive resume as a HC.

The point i‘m making is you can’t bash Mario with his flaws and then act like Lane is some great hire or answer. Thats ridiculous.
Yep, both of them have their flaws. I just think Lanes ceiling at UM is higher. Honestly I'm not even putting into the equation that Lane could cause embarrassment to university. Most people already think that canes are trash/scum and regardless of whatever we do that will be their opinion. I've already heard how Lane would be a "good fit" (in a negative way) for Miami.

For me I've always been of the opinion that I want a coach that can take his players and beat yours and then turn around and take your players and beat his with them. I don't think Mario can do that unless he has the right people underneath him.
