Here's what I know

I think Moorehead works in the B1G style because it’s all centered around running the Football.

From a personnel standpoint Miami needs an Air Raid OC, that incorporates the run game as well but isn’t dependent on it in the same way that Moorehead will be.

I’m not that high on Marcus Arroyo either, I remember watching his offense at OK St & have watched about 4 games of UNLV this year & his system is not very good IMO.

Mario usually hires guys who he has personal relationships with, so if Arroyo gets fired at UNLV (which he probably will) I wouldn’t be shocked if he hired him here.

But I think it will be in his best interest to hire an OC that runs a system that centered around a high volume passing attack. I’d go all out to steal Zach Kittley from WKU, but I doubt he’d do that lol.
Agree with all of this. I cannot imagine Mario going air raid but hopefully he proves me wrong.

Then take away the COVID year. It would look like this: 9-4, 12-2, 9-2.

Isn't that miles better than what we have now? And he has the best talent because he got the best talent.

If he comes here, I expect him to: (1) consistently land Top 10-12 classes with Top 5 upside; (2) improve our OL; (3) have us ready to play big games. Those are things he has proven as a head coach.

If those things happen at Miami, it will be hard for us to be bad.

well one of the 1 of the 3 was exposed. I can forgive the Utah loss with the OSU win. the Stanford loss is what makes me nervous when you're paying 7 mill. either way, hes still a massive upgrade

It can’t be denied that he’s a very good coach, but he gets propped up as the next Saban & if people are Mario fans they should actually hate that, because it’s doing a disservice to him to set the bar so high & that’s why it’s good to examine in full what could happen rather than just assume what’s going to happen.
Yep. He's definitely not the next Saban. My best-case comparison would be more like Butch.

It's a different time (there will never be another 2001 roster) but I see similarities as a program builder.

Here’s the issue in that line of thinking...

Oregon is in year 4 of Mario’s recruiting, needing a limited QB like Anthony Brown in year 4 is a head scratcher for an Elite recruiter, so if Brown is a bust it makes you wonder why you would bet the house on a QB who isn’t very good to begin with when you have playoff aspirations...

Especially in a weak conference like the PAC-12.
Yup. Also, the QB room Is filled with talent. Robby, Butterfield, and Ty were all high end 4 star QBs.

So you have an underperforming QB and a QB room filled with young guys that could potentially light it up but you don't give any of them a shot.

Everyone's got question marks and this is certainly one of them for Mario. Fixable. But a huge concern nonetheless. OC hire is critical if he ends up being the hire.

Won the conference after finishing 3rd in his own division in the COVID year.

Cristobal is a 3 loss per year coach in a bad conference with the best talent. Why would he be any more successful here than at Oregon?
And not sure you can even use the QB excuse like Dabo used until Watson cuz he already had an NFL starter.

In all honesty, I don’t really think it’s even Mario vs Kiffin anymore, it’s really a Mario vs Mario debate.

It’s the idea of the perception that Mario is a literal perfect Coach vs the reality of Mario as a coach.

I think what’s happened is that because Mario has been heralded as a near Deity amongst Canes fans it’s caused the natural reaction of people taking a closer look & having some legitimate questions. What happens is that whenever you ask questions people seem to get emotional as if we’re not allowed to ask questions at all & that even having a second thought about Mario is borderline blasphemous lol

the issue has become imo that people are too quick to dismiss any criticisms.

Do you want to tout the COVID year championship or not? We can, but let's not pretend it was a good year for them after finishing 3rd in their own division.

COVID year or not, we're still staring 3 losses per year in the face. It's not miles better than what we have now, it's 2 wins better.

Those recruiting classes are nice until everyone is ****ed we're still somehow losing to UNC and VT regularly despite being more talented on paper. And he sure had his team prepared to play at Utah with a playoff spot on the line; just like in 2019 at Arizona State.

I agree we won't be bad Miami, but we won't be great either. Mario Cristobal can be our very own Jim Harbaugh. Good enough to break our hearts, but not good enough to gain our eternal love.

Why do you think Lashlee chose Miami over Oregon? Could it be that Manny gave Lashlee free run and Mario didn't? If Mario retains Lashlee, Lashlee will run the offense Mario wants and if you think we're gonna see what we've seen in TVD's best moments you're mistaken. Mario will look at some of those droughts we go through and demand a more concerted effort to run the football. And you don't just fix the OL just by his presence. That is done by multiple recruiting classes. He will want to be "physical at the LOS" and eat clock. Thats who he is.
Well...since I see you've got upvotes by one of the CIS GOATs in LCE, I digress.

I'm off the Mario train. Bring me Lane. Cannot suffer through another regime of slo-n-low run first pro style OFF.

And will he keep playing the people who are ineffective?

BOT members are concerned about the image of hiring a certain AD. Well we’ve had the image of being a cheap, **** show that only thrives on past accomplishments. If you rather stay with that image you don’t need to be having any input on decisions about this university. Need to get all them out of here and get some younger, dedicated or people who just want the university to be great on the board.

That brings me to the most important stat with Mario.

He's 4-1 against Top 10 teams.

He's, at ABSOLUTE worst, competent.

I'll take that. I was at Clemson in 2020. I was in Atlanta in 2021. I was in Orlando in 2019. WE LOST TO FIU, DUKE, AND LOUISIANA TECH IN 3 STRAIGHT ******* WEEKS. I've had enough. This is so ridiculous. Yes, Mario is far from a sure thing. But who in the name of all ******* things holy is a sure thing that is available to us? I love Lane Kiffin, but would anybody be shocked to turn on WSVN on a Wednesday morning and see him being led out of Scarlett's in handcuffs with a thong tied around his face and covered in cocaine??? I hope I'm there that night, by the way, but I don't coach at Miami. So, I'd LOVE him, but he's not a sure thing. Nobody is.

Yeah, Mario got blown out last week. Yes, he has had a few games where somehow they lost when they had the game all but won. But I just want to be competent, for once. I want to look prepared, one god**** time. I want to be tougher than someone else. We made Sam ******* Howell look like Earl Campbell. Just bring me someone who won't make me completely embarrassed to say I'm a supporter to Miami football. I'm almost certain Mario Cristobal can give that to us. A championship? I have no idea. But he won't be a laughingstock.
