Let's start from scratch and pretend to be unbiased.

Fact Pattern #1 (Assume these are the facts):

1. Walton will be able to reclassify and qualify in the 2015 Class.

2. We need 2-3 RBs in the 2015 Class.

3. Duke is leaving after the season. Yearby, Tucker and Edwards are who remains on scholarship.

4. There are 4 kids interested in being at Miami (JC, DW, MW and JS).

5. Players can move to other positions.

What would you do?

I don't see how Jordan is trying to force the staff's hand or even how he could do that. With Williams committed and Walton and Scarlett in play I'm not sure where he would have the leverage to force their hand. As I see it what's really different about this situation is that in this instance we have more information about what's actually going on behind the scenes. And all it suggests is that everyone is jockeying for position. Every other big D1 program in the country goes through the same thing. Indeed recruiting situations at this level are often fluid so our staff and all the running backs are waiting to see how things play out while also covering their butts.

Seeing as it's just July 6th and we're several months away from NSD, as a Cane so long as our coaches get the 2 best running backs that they can out of this group for the next class we should count this as a success. Right now we have four really good ones in the mix and two of them - as of now - are baby Canes. Sounds to me like the coaches are right about where they should be on this one. Again, we are several months away from NSD.

I'm intrigued about the comments Token Cane made about Gus. Did he or anyone else elaborate on those comments?

No one should be the odd man out. Suck it up and do what's good for the team. Recruiting is fluid, staff had no idea that Walton would reclassify.

Cronk is basically trying to force the staffs hand, trying to get them to drop a great prospect because he doesn't want to be apart of a 3 RB class.

Walton, Scarlett (if he commits) have no problem with the numbers.

I sort of understand his position but at the same time I don't like the attitude. Hope he rethinks his position and wants what is best for the team

Good chance I'm in the minority on my thoughts

Sounds reasonable. Yep. You'll end up in the minority.

Yet because our fans don't like our coach they continue to portray this in a negative light in terms of Miami which doesn't help the overall goal of better players and better football program.

Get as many as you can and let nature take its course--which will mean, presumably, that Gus moves on. Walter Trucker Tucker is a physical specimen and can play more FB.

Sounds logical.

Would be nice to have a stable of Yearby, DW, MW, JC and JS. Tucker playing FB, maybe move Gus there as well.

I think a kid like DW can be moved to WR or S. Kid is a tremendous athlete.

I take as many as possible. **** happens. Injuries, shift to a different position, guys leaving early. South Florida coaches, parents, and the players need to get off the notion that UM is trying to ***** them. The so called "lies" happen at all schools and to kids in South Florida but not one peep is said when UF, FSU, Bama, LSU, OSU etc. lie out their A-HOLE!!

F all you haters! So much bull**** goes on in South Florida which is killing UM. Honestly, I don't know how Coach and his staff put up with all BS in the 305, 954, and 561!!

Only in Miami do you we finally break through and have more than one blue chip prospect at a position interested and we get this ****. Georgia signed two top 10 backs last year. Bama signed 4 top 10 backs in 13. Not us though. This **** is so ridiculous. Right now, Walton is my dude. He doesn't give a **** if we sign just him or all them. Give me that dog! That's the kind of attitude I want on 4th and 1. These kids need to see the need for all of them. We will have ONE Miami caliber back on our roster next year if Duke goes to the league. I'm not sold on Gus, especially over any of these kids. All four can get on the field and play. That's the truth. The day of the workhorse back is gone. They can all contribute early and in different roles. Dammit mane I just want to finally break through on this bull****. We need you all!

Yeah, we are all--myself included--over-thinking this. Get as many as you can and the best talent will out; other guys will move or drop.

There is no ****ing way they push Williams out. No way.

No but staff will force his hand by asking him to shut down his recruitment or they will pull his offer. They could ask all 4 to do this an whomever is willing will have a spot then Williams will have a choice to make. But honestly I don't think Walton does reclassify, an I think we land all 3 for the 2015 class. Then I think Williams redshirts since he is similar to what yearby and berrios offer on the field, also giving more separation among the running backs.

Walton is pushing to reclassify because he would lose eligibility for some high school games during the 2015 season, so best case scenario is he would become an early enrollee for the 2016 class, then red shirt once he got to UM allowing for even more class seperation plus it saves wear on his body.

If JC is feeling UM's staff is lying to him good lord what does he think will happen OSU with Urban Liar, UF where Muschamp is about to be fired, WV see UF situation. He is a smart young man an will see the light. Not to mention UM has shown that running game by committee has been our long standing tradition.

Go Canes

WTF are you talking about. Sometimes people shouldn't say **** when they don't know what they are talking about. Kid wouldn't miss a single freaking game in 2015 so stop. Kid is just ready to move on to the next challenge in his life instead of just staying and dominating HS kids.

Also people really need to leave the JC brings Quan and Irvin stuff alone already. if was that important for them to play with JC, UF wouldn't be Quan's leader right now and Irvin wouldn't still be trying to find a reason to commit to Miami after visiting campus dozens of times already.

I am happy the staff is looking and still recruiting rbs. How many freaking times will this team get burned by last second defections and no replacements. I say to **** with it and bring in as many as you can.

Only we would get bashed for having the best RB class in the country.

I find this thread hilarious for multiple reasons.

UM always the bad guy.

Sounds like Cronk has too many "ppls" in his ear

Walton getting the first crack at PT bc he is a pipeline kid?!--- lol

People thinking we push out Dex to comfort Cronk

We are recruiting to win. We are going to take the best player available regardless of the JC -Quan situation.

Quan has had the Gators in the lead for a long while. Smart money says we don't land him.

Irvin is keep things close to the vest.

He will be over 19 1/2 years by the 2015 high school season and that is the cut off age for florida high school sports. Kevin Benjamin only played in the first 8 games his senior year at GC because of the aging out rule.

Another player 2013 ATH Brisly Estime had to apply for a special waver to play the 2012 season for Atlantic HS.

You must have no life to scour the internet for info the way you do. Buddy probably still lives in granny's basement up North.

Jaquan doesn't have the gators in the lead wtf lol. Yeah he's very interested in them. Last I recall we were in lead but that it's still very close. I've been following his recruitment for a long time. He said when he was a freshman or sophomore that he liked UF. But they are not in the lead. His favorite always been Miami.

I can see the dilemma from any of these kids thinking about starting or being the primary RB. That's something we all can understand although we want them all. You know gayters and people around Williams are telling him we gonna favor the SoFl guys because we don't want to upset our recruiting base. Somethings gonna give and it's gonna be a decommitt or Scarlett going elsewhere. Whenever there are 3+ 4 Star players wanting to play for the same school, same position, somebody's gonna opt out, in most cases.

wrong again if you don't know what you're talking about then don't say anything. Even worse you did all that research and were still wrong. He's 17 right now and will play 2014 as a 17 year old. He'll turn 18 next spring and if he's still in HS next fall he will play football as an 18 year old. Just like Sony did last year. Just like Cook did last year. **** just like the fatazz who went to LSU did and he was a 19 year old man for part of the season because he turned 19 after Sept 1st which is the cutoff now.
