In other people’s case, if you’re living paycheck to paycheck, maybe you shouldn’t being going out and drinking and driving. Because now, if you get pulled over, or worse, like Ruggs, you’re in deeper crap. Drink at home, it’s cheaper either way 🤷🏾‍♀️. Honestly, unless people are out super late like Ruggs, Ubers/Lyft aren’t going to be that expensive.

Idk what bike week is. But if any of them hurt someone because they rode drunk, then the same would be said to them. Not just by me, but many others, to include the victims family.

All I’m saying is find an alternative. What ever that means to you or anyone else. I’m in the military. We have issues with DUIs. One of the things thats been pushed down our throats from boot camp until now is: have a plan, have a DD. We’ve been had leadership offer to pick up Sailors if they couldn’t find a ride. I’ve worked with people who have family members that died to drunk drivers. ****, one of the neighboring commands had a Sailor drive drunk and he killed someone. I got a call asking if it was one of my guys.

There are options out there. If those options don’t work for you, we’ll then, you better pray you don’t get pulled over or get in an accident.

Don’t risk your life or other lives. Have a plan. People have families. Those are my thoughts.

I understand but alcohol also strips you of your better judgment so you unfortunately don't make the appropriate decision under those circumstances.

I rolled a car 4 times going 90 in Wyoming when I was 19 and neither me or my two cousins in the car were permanently hurt. Id smoked weed earlier. It’s only by dumb luck and a miracle that I didn’t kill myself or somebody I love and I live with that everyday. This guys Life will never be the same. Hope he rises to it and turns it around but I’d bet against it.

I get it. That’s why you should have a plan before that happens. That’s all. I mean we’re all human, we all do things we regret. There are some things we can come back from. Praying for all in involved.

pretty much no one said throw him in jail and throw away the key but carry on. My uncle spent 4yrs in jail for this exact situaltion. I guess the rich elite can do whatever amirite?

For sure. I expect he will try to settle quickly and will probably try to plea on the criminal side. I hope the family gets paid, but you can't bring back a life.



2-3 drinks? As an athlete of that caliber and at 5'11"? That would be an insanely low tolerance of alcohol. If you're too inebriated to properly operate a car after 2-3 drinks (and presumably the passage of some time), you probably should never drink.



Day 1 firearm safety. Absolutely must check the chamber and magazine for rounds. Do not point a firearm at another person. If he can't tell that it wasn't a prop gun, then that's pretty bad too. He's negligent, and absolutely partially at fault. Lots of people (and the film company) should be liable for their contributory negligence on this one, and Baldwin is one of them.

So the two to three drinks thing. I am not an authority on this but I do have an observation. I got off the gas about seven years ago. 90% of the time people start to slur after two. I was shocked. I thought I could have sat in as a high court judge after 12! I am by no means claiming this is for everyone but after two, I can hear it hermano.

If I go out with my buddies on a Friday they get *** canned quick. If we hair of the dog it the next day and out in a full day of work, they don’t slur words for hours. Strange dynamic. And yes, I drive those drunk ****iz around.

You get tipsy quicker than you think is my observation. When in doubt, have someone drive you home. If someone called me, I would pick them up. I cheated the grey bar hotel back in the day so I feel obligated.

Well said, though unless you are retired I doubt you are older than me. I do believe in second chances, but to a point. When it involves taking a life I believe in a life for a life. Accidents obviously are a different matter but when you decide to drink and drive you’ve lost that privilege. And while I did stupid stuff when I was young (weed being a minor transgression compared to some of the very retarded **** I got into) once you become an adult that excuse should not fly anymore.
I’ll have to agree to disagree here when it comes to ole Ruggs III.

Man, happens too often. Sad for the victim and often lost, sad for the driver as well. Both have families and it changes all of them.

There's a simple solution to this and I wouldn't be opposed to it. Have a breathalyzer on every car. While that is a pain in the butt for a lot of people, it would save nearly 40k a year in the US alone.

That is why you plan ahead. I partied like a rockstar but left the car at home. Amazing how I never killed people in the back of an uber or taxi or sober baptist friend’s car.
