As many have said, if not using Uber or Lyft or whatever else, then a provided driver by the NFLPA would have worked. I also saw someone say that he wanted to show off his car- what better way than to show it off by being such a baller that you don’t even drive yourself anywhere. Hire a driver with an NDA and be done with it!

I hate to say it bc I sound like an old man, but this is why they didn't want to have an NFL team in Vegas.

You give that kind of money to kids that are 22-23 years old, and bad **** is gonna happen. This is basically the poster child of "as bad as it can get."

The Vegas franchise is a mess right now.

I just don't understand. We have Lyft, Uber's, taxi's and other options out here now, how/why are people still drinking and driving? I know some people are "fine" after having a few drinks. But is it worth it? Get a DD if you don't want to leave your vehicle somewhere over night. Find an alternative! You are literally risking other lives, as well as your own!

EDIT: Meant to say this before posting, but also at work and was distracted. May that person rest in peace.

In a city like Vegas, no less.

Absolutely insane for anyone of any status to be behind the wheel in a town like that.

One of the easiest places to secure public transportation / hotel limos / car service, etc. in the country.

Drive during the day. Anytime a pro athlete goes out at night, get a driver.

Okay well you pay for the Uber ride then. Not everything is black and white like that, he can afford it but most people still live paycheck to paycheck.

It's just not realistic to tell someone they can't go out unless they can dump a quarter of their paycheck. Suggs is wrong cuz he has money but I'm tired of hearing this right here... Do you think 250,000 motorcycles are sober last bike week? Should they shut bike week down? I wanna know your thoughts

Sad story. Obviously RIP to the victim and it’s 100% his fault but I feel for Ruggs. I rolled a car 4 times going 90 in Wyoming when I was 19 and neither me or my two cousins in the car were permanently hurt. Id smoked weed earlier. It’s only by dumb luck and a miracle that I didn’t kill myself or somebody I love and I live with that everyday. This guys Life will never be the same. Hope he rises to it and turns it around but I’d bet against it.
So are you anti weed now?

Correct. Local police were conducting an investigation before Massachusetts State Police came in and whitewashed it.

You wouldn't be sympathetic if this douchebag didn't play ball. I'm sorry, but some of us managed to not do stupid crap like this so we don't have sympathy for the people that despite being worth millions couldn't be bothered to Uber. Someone is dead because of this guy, I won't shed a tear if he gets jail time.

For sure. I expect he will try to settle quickly and will probably try to plea on the criminal side. I hope the family gets paid, but you can't bring back a life.

Let the facts bear out. Ruggs ain't a big guy. 2-3 drinks and he's likely technically impaired. I'm not defending the guy and he likely should and will be punished, but everyone here is lying if they haven't driven under similar circumstances.

2-3 drinks? As an athlete of that caliber and at 5'11"? That would be an insanely low tolerance of alcohol. If you're too inebriated to properly operate a car after 2-3 drinks (and presumably the passage of some time), you probably should never drink.

What possible charges would you want for Alec Baldwin? He was on a movie set shooting, so he was told by the team, a prop gun.

That's a tragic situation but absolutely not on him.

Day 1 firearm safety. Absolutely must check the chamber and magazine for rounds. Do not point a firearm at another person. If he can't tell that it wasn't a prop gun, then that's pretty bad too. He's negligent, and absolutely partially at fault. Lots of people (and the film company) should be liable for their contributory negligence on this one, and Baldwin is one of them.

If they drew a blood alcohol level in the hospital he’s fcked if it’s way high.
Also, they should make the front end collision sensors mandatory on all cars especially now with everyone texting and streaming while they drive.
The amount of people I see in the ER from rear end collisions is getting ridiculous.

I can't get over rich people who do this.

Forgiveness is the only way. Takes far more courage to forgive than hate.
Such a lazy take. Here's an idea, don't tolerate crap from people. I don't blame people for not forgiving entitled jackasses that harm others. We've allowed sociopathic behavior to become acceptable, because everyone wants to forgive. No. Some things are unforgivable. This is one of them. This could have easily been prevented.

That Corvette has front end sensors, he was probably going too fast for it to do any good.

I was surprised they didn't mention if they did a blood draw.

I’m talking about the ones that break if you dont
Those only work if you aren't going above a certain speed. My car has them, it will only be able to completely stop the car if you are going less than 35. If you are going 90, it ain't doing a **** thing.

Look, not getting in anything online. I mean, in his case, get an Uber or DD, you have the means. I also suggested a DD.

In other people’s case, if you’re living paycheck to paycheck, maybe you shouldn’t being going out and drinking and driving. Because now, if you get pulled over, or worse, like Ruggs, you’re in deeper crap. Drink at home, it’s cheaper either way 🤷🏾‍♀️. Honestly, unless people are out super late like Ruggs, Ubers/Lyft aren’t going to be that expensive.

Idk what bike week is. But if any of them hurt someone because they rode drunk, then the same would be said to them. Not just by me, but many others, to include the victims family.

All I’m saying is find an alternative. What ever that means to you or anyone else. I’m in the military. We have issues with DUIs. One of the things thats been pushed down our throats from boot camp until now is: have a plan, have a DD. We’ve been had leadership offer to pick up Sailors if they couldn’t find a ride. I’ve worked with people who have family members that died to drunk drivers. ****, one of the neighboring commands had a Sailor drive drunk and he killed someone. I got a call asking if it was one of my guys.

There are options out there. If those options don’t work for you, we’ll then, you better pray you don’t get pulled over or get in an accident.

Don’t risk your life or other lives. Have a plan. People have families. Those are my thoughts.

I was surprised they didn't mention if they did a blood draw.
I’m also surprised that the media doesn’t treat him the same way they treat our players.
Almost every article I’ve read so far has failed to mention one thing:
FORMER UNIVERSITY OF ALABAM FOOTBALL PLAYER.

Our dudes get a jay walking ticket after being in the league 10 years and the headline is FORMER UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI FOOTBALL PLAYER………

How is it lazy? You think it is easy to forgive people? We live in different worlds bro. All I see is hatred, bitterness, people basking on humiliating others, complete lack of all morality, and little to no forgiveness. Forgiveness isn't for the person that did the wrong, it is for you. How can I withhold that from anyone when God grants it to me.
