Held it

Jarren will learn. But Enos wasn't crazy when he said there were times Jarren held the ball too long. I expect these instances to get cleaned up.

And I am in the process of upping the ball game a bit. I was told I can be a little too technical in print. (So I will explain) And I understand that not everyone has twitter so I made a Youtube account and I will post links through this format. From the Perch will continue in this format as well. Hope you guys enjoy the content.

Who was the ******* that told you that you were to technical in print ?? The time I spend on this, I got to get my "money's worth".

lol them delayed blitzes were so weak smh.... We can’t have missed opportunities like that. Enos play calling wasn’t the issue nor the oline blocking... this game was lost entirely bc of Jarren Williams.
I think you got to throw in that horrendous pass pro too.

This is another reason why fans shouldn’t jump to conclusion so quick about things. See FSU first half, Oregon first half as examples as you have to let things play out. Same with judging players based off of media coverage with no breakdown. Without seeing the full 22, it’s hard to know what’s going on. Enos was correct. Williams has a TD on that first drive to a wide open JT who had the DB on skates. He just didn’t let it rip.

And thanks for the breakdowns. It’s great to see what is truly going on. So hard cause tv rarely shows the secondary and doesn’t show replays often enough.

"Entirely"? Hardly.

Auburn overcame quarterback mistakes last night and won. Lots of teams did.

Miami loss to Florida was "entirely" based on too many team mistakes.

Jeff Thomas' fumble, Baxa's missed, a hold on a fake field goal—or how about 30 lots yards of field position after getting dinged for unsportsmanlike conduct (Blades' middle fingers) and an illegal block, taking Miami from the UF 25 yards line to their own 45 on that final drive.

Entirely blaming a quarterback who didn't turn the ball over once is completely unfair. Williams didn't step up to win the game for Miami, but he sure as sh*t isn't responsible for losing that game.

When Florida loses 4 games this year, maybe people will stop acting like we lost to a title contender.
The team got the victory, but the credit should go to the DE's. The difference is that our O line should improve because of experience whereas the margin of improvement is a lot less for Florida.

Jarren surely left some points on the board but so did our receivers, honestly Jarren played a decent game for his 1st start, our veteran receivers gotta do more to help him out when he puts the ball where it needs to be. His play was good enough to win if he had more help, just like the team's performance was good enough to win if Jarren played a perfect game.

I think Diaz is instilling a culture that will have this team coalesce around each other and win together, and lose together.

My question is this. Why do I see so many TRUE freshmen QBs come in and make plays, but we can't get a QB at any age to play at a high level?
Most of those other teams simplify their playbooks for them and most also don't start vs UF week 1 in primetime

They're not a title contender but they have an elite defense. It makes a difference.
Huh? With the atrocious tackling that even drew Herbie's stark criticism? They are fast, yes but so as FSU defense. But I don't know if either UF or FSU has "elite" defense. Unless they improve a lot during the season regarding tackling, good teams will score on them a bunch. There is "good" and there is "elite" and people often use both words interchangeably.

I’ve never played the position. But as a hurricanes fanatic, sitting in the stands, it didn’t take a football PhD to see that he was holding the ball too long on several plays - way too long.

I saw ton of potential, and some really good plays from him. And to be honest, I like the way he stood in the pocket, although he’s got a lot to learn in terms of avoiding and feeling the rush.

Overall I’m optimistic about his potential and where he is headed. But yes he’s got quite a bit to get cleaned up.

Williams made plays.

How many of these true freshmen are coming in to brand new systems too? Howells, maybe?

Jarren made some plays. Show me a freshman who came in week 1 and played better against a defense as good as Florida?

Boise st QB hadn’t even completed a pass in the red zone till late in the game. He missed multiple throws. He had an incredible running game going which wore out FSU. We didn’t have near the running game they did.

UNC: Howell has some awful passes, multiple fumbles. So they leaned on their running game also. He made the few throws he needed to to get away with a win.

Auburn: Bo Nix was god awful and was like 5-18 with 2 INT and 98yards until that last drive. Once again Auburn learned in their running game and defense to keep them in the game.

The common theme is all those teams leaned on their running game and stayed close enough to squeak out a win at the end. We had the same opportunity at the end of the game to win. Instead we killed ourselves with penalties.

None of those other teams had the penalties we had. That was also a major difference. Also Boise st had all seniors on their offensive line. Auburn has a much better line than us and UNC didn’t look terrible. We have one of the worst table combos in the entire country. Let’s not blame everything on Williams.
