Glad you brought that up. While I completely agree our line isn't all that, and needs improvement, there is a secret ingredient that helps make an O-line look good. A QB that can get rid of the ball. Remember how Kyle Wright took sack after sack when he came in for Berlin? Same exact line, different QBs, VASTLY different results. Wright couldn't sense pressure, and hard a very hard time getting rid of the ball. We spent years waiting for Wright to do this, and he never did. Now, I hope and pray the QB whisperer, Enos, can set Williams right.

Again, I know our line needs to improve. A QB making quicker, better decisions will help them. Now, when those tackles grow up a bit, that in turn will help Williams. It's not all on Williams, just like it's not all on the O-line, or Enos.

Entirely blaming a quarterback who didn't turn the ball over once is completely unfair. Williams didn't step up to win the game for Miami, but he sure as sh*t isn't responsible for losing that game.

Maybe Monday morning QBing, but it was obvious that Jarren was painstakingly slow in making decisions and getting rid of the ball.
I think a slightly more experienced QB like N'kosi would have pulled off a win, especially considering that we were starting two freshmen at tackle .. .

... however that would not have helped long term. .. water under the bridge now.

Nkosi woul dhave got rid of the ball your right but he cant hid the broadside of a barn, and would have thrown two ints but hey if it makes you feel better im all for it

I was simply stating that MAYBE we should look at more than ONE GAME with a (semi) new staff and QB before we write everyone off lol.

At first I thought the same thing. But after watching it 2 more times, our receivers were so wide open all Kosi had to do was get it in the general area of the receiver. We know he likes to throw deep and won’t hesitate, to a fault I might add. But our guys were HS as I think Roman likes to say.

Great work, as usual, and totally on point.

One thing I also noticed on that play, and I think this will come with more experience, is that Jarren could have (should have) made use of a shuffle or slide opportunity to buy himself a beat to allow for him to set on platform and evade the pressure from the green dog blitzer. It's a tough throw where he needs to compact his motion to get that one to the post. But one he can make.

In this instance, it seems he actually forced a bit up too far into the pocket too quickly, and had he been more patient, the blitzer would have been a step too far to impede his throw. He also had a good wall from his C/G, and could have used that to lengthen the rusher's path. Might have taken the play from one where he held too long to one where he bought himself the extra beat.

Thoughts?
 
watched your first video, so much better than you video taping your tv on twitter haha. Like the youtube idea and will subscribe

Interview after interview QBs and Manny have said they wanted a QB that wouldn't lose the game.

I think Williams was trying to avoid mistakes too much. With more experience and job security he might let it fly and not play scared.

At the same time don’t want the QB to leave points on the field because they are scared to make the throw especially when points are a premium

Not forced in the sense he is held down by contract or other external forces and you know what I meant. Forced by lack of achievements, lack of something to show for, something to help his resume to move up. Coming here and fail to improve the offense or the overall record of Miami, do you think that helps him getting a better job? Wouldn't you want to extend your stay and say, hey, look what I've done down in Miami!

One of those plays were he held the ball too long he lost his footing on the drop back and once he regained the rush was in face. I think had he not lost his footing he may have hit Jeff for the touchdown. Not absolving him just pointing that out

I like where your head is hat. Honestly Jarren pocket discipline and climbing up the pocket was starting to get influenced by the fact the tackles were getting beat a bit. uf tired this same style of blitz a few times and the more it got home it seemed like his eyes were looking down rather than up as well. Good news is I have a ton of faith in Jarren and I think a lot of this gets cleaned up. He will be facing a front that is not as talented but I believe Miami will be facing blitzes until they show the ability to decimate and hold up their protections a bit better.

I hope we play Saturday. I am tired of these what ifs and need to see us run up and down the field to calm my nerves lol
