Predictable but led to one of the best running offenses in the country last year. So, who ******* cares?Just so **** predictable
I recall 1 maybe 2 off-tackle runs last night, out of 35 RB carries. This year may be different; Coach may have his sights set on 90+%.You saw the graphic last night. 76% of our run plays last year were between the tackles 2nd in the nation (only to Army? I think?).
No reason to believe this year will be any different.
We have shown other run plays besides duo like counter, power, etc. we have pulled guards and Cici, but do you want 6'6 320 pound monsters moving laterally or moving forward?I do want more creativity in the run game.
We got stopped multiple times when we needed two or three yardsI mean.... if you have the best OL in America. And it's getting you yrds...... iiiidddkkk
I like being able to punch teams in the mouth, play bully ball and tell them "we're getting these 2-3 yards whether you like it or not" and lean on them to wear them out.I recall 1 maybe 2 off-tackle runs last night, out of 35 RB carries. In all seriousness though, I'm perhaps the biggest fan on this board of our "hit them with a rock and don't run outside the tackles" run game, but we really do need to run outside the tackles more. Especially for Lyle's sake. He danced too much on the interior runs last year, and did the same last night before he got hurt (small sample sizes tbf).
That’s all I’m askingWe have shown other run plays besides duo like counter, power, etc. we have pulled guards and Cici, but do you want 6'6 320 pound monsters moving laterally or moving forward?
Do you want to run soft zone reads or use your big monsters upfront bullying the guys across from you?
Now, I do agree incorporating some jet sweeps with Marion and Toney will be nice wrinkles but that'll come. I think when going against a top defense you look to minimize negative plays and keep ahead of the sticks as much as lossible
Move the chains and keep our defense fresh. That’s all I’m asking
Keep the D honest
Mario loves to spam the Duo gameDo we have anymore running plays other than this
That would require some creativity, something Dawson lacks. We got stopped multiple times when we needed two or three yards
Let’s not act as if we ran for 250
We need some plays on the edge
Use
Some speed
Get Toney jet sweep or two
Add a Toss or quick pitch and get the corner
Every play can’t be slammed thru the middle imo

This just wasn't the game to be doing all of that. They got the lead and played it safe. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with the method. I'm saying I UNDERSTAND why they called it that way.We got stopped multiple times when we needed two or three yards

However, lining up and running a play action or jump pass or some sort or creativity/ingenuity is needed when lining up in jumbo formation for the 12th time in a row.
The play works in there normal offense.. it’s when it’s 2nd or 3rd and short and they bring the WR’s into a shotgun goaline formation the play obviously just gets into a pile up and goes no where..Do we have anymore running plays other than this
