Makes too much sense for them to understand bro, guarantee you if we lose yards tryna run outside on crucial plays they’ll be on here *****ing about it lolPredictable but led to one of the best running offenses in the country last year. So, who ******* cares?
If the other team knows it's coming and can't stop it who cares?
Bama under Saban was going to run right at you behind their stud OL. Everyone knew who was getting the ball and where it was going - very predictable. No one could consistently over the course of 4 quarters stop what they knew was coming.
Same dude who ran a toss play to Devon Achane on 3rd & inches & promptly lost 8 yardsThey have access to literally the best running game play designer in football right down the road, I wish they would utilize him. People around the NFL constantly copy what Mike McDaniel does in the running game.
And I really do question that 76%. I think its more 85%.You saw the graphic last night. 76% of our run plays last year were between the tackles 2nd in the nation (only to Army? I think?).
No reason to believe this year will be any different.
37 rush attempts and only 2 TFLs against a top 10? Top 5? defense. That's how you manage the chains against a high end defense that last played in the national championship.Makes too much sense for them to understand bro, guarantee you if we lose yards tryna run outside on crucial plays they’ll be on here *****ing about it lol![]()
Regardless they still have had a very productive running game with a poor OL and no real blue chip RB. Give him this OL and our RBs and you would have one of the best running games in college football.Same dude who ran a toss play to Devon Achane on 3rd & inches & promptly lost 8 yards
Bro, it's so frustrating we never run outside the tacklesIf we had any flavor in the run game we win by 21+ and they never stop us.
Hope it’s in our bag for later. (I know it’s not)
A jet sweep to Marion, Toney, or even Lofton would have broken for 50+ multiple times last night because they crashed and sold out right up the gut

I was just waiting for a 3rd and short play action. There were so many times that a tight end leaking out over the middle would have gone for huge yards. If we had any flavor in the run game we win by 21+ and they never stop us.

It's crazy to me that they hyped Lofton up all offseason and he got one catch on one target last night. If we had any flavor in the run game we win by 21+ and they never stop us.

Apparently he's been dealing with an injury; maybe that played into his limited role this week? It's crazy to me that they hyped Lofton up all offseason and he got one catch on one target last night.
In a game where we were struggling to move the ball consistently.
Been asking this for a couple years through a couple of OC and the only answer I can come up with is NOPE !!!Do we have anymore running plays other than this
It’s funny but we aren’t the only team with a bunch of 350 lb Oilmen and somehow most of them figure out a way to run wide every now and then not every YEAR or so…We have shown other run plays besides duo like counter, power, etc. we have pulled guards and Cici, but do you want 6'6 320 pound monsters moving laterally or moving forward?
Do you want to run soft zone reads or use your big monsters upfront bullying the guys across from you?
Now, I do agree incorporating some jet sweeps with Marion and Toney will be nice wrinkles but that'll come. I think when going against a top defense you look to minimize negative plays and keep ahead of the sticks as much as lossible
Looks about the same to meDawsons run game was not this one dimensional at Houston. This is more Mario.
Hal Mumme the father of the air raid talks about the air raid running game here in this video. Just skip to 36:15 of this videoThe key to this running game is that we avoid negative plays and convert short-yardage. We never put Beck in 2nd and 12 and Cam was the same way last year. It’s a QB-friendly run game.
And we still can move the ball (top 5 YPC last year and outrushed Notre Dame last night).
