Hate to Agree with Jimbo but

I agree the dude aint elite but saying the guy soft is a stretch. He got slung down first play of the game and injured his shoulder, got hit in the head and **** tooth flew out and the dude never came out the game.

His true freshmen year he got hit 17 times in his first game vs louisville. They were lighting his *** up and dude got up and kept playing.

I'll always remember how many in this fan base spoke about Ken Dorsey following the Fiesta Bowl.

And THAT dude won a National Championship for the school and finished Top 5 in the Heisman twice.

If Badgeley boots his 73rd consecutive PAT, this isn't even a thread after we win in OT.

How the **** is the dude who hands his tooth to the trainer and goes back in with a shoulder injury not "tough"

Maybe we should avoid Cali QBS in the future. There was only one Ken Dorsey. Looks like there are plenty of Kyle Wrights and Kaayas, thought. Leave them to SAN Jose State and such programs.

Our QB gets shaken over Twitter mentions. We knew he wasn't mentally tough, we just didn't want to believe it.

Players have noticed all the positivity, too. Let Kaaya explain how it felt to go to a game knowing there would be a banner flying overhead.

“It’s hard when I know any bad decision I make on the field is going to affect my coach,” Kaaya said. “If I throw a pick, or if I do something that’s going to lead us losing this game, there’s going to be a banner up at our next home game. We’re 3-0 and I’m going into the Cincinnati game and there’s a banner. I’m just thinking, ‘I hope we don’t lose this game. I hope I play well so my Twitter mentions aren’t going to have, ‘I hate coach Golden’ or ‘Fire coach Golden.’

“We put in all this work and there’s a banner saying, ‘Bring back Butch.' ... 'Throw it in the tank for the season.’ Geez you’re giving up on us, too? That part right there, it was hard to take at times as a player. It was a bit nerve-wracking.”

They just pick a narrative, and go with it, logic be damned. Brad Kaaya threw an egregious pick on Saturday, but when the team needed a score to push it to OT, he did his job. Yet, because someone blew a block on the PAT, he's a **** bum. Yep, Steve Walsh was so incredibly gritty. No, he wasn't, he was a highly intelligent guy who knew his limitations and put the ball where it needed to be. Same with Dorsey, same with Erickson. The two toughest QBs this program has seen since Mira graduated were Jim Kelly and Bernie Kosar. Kelly was "Bar room brawl" tough, and Kosar was "Poor kid who had nothing to lose" tough. It's amazing how this fanbase turns on players, players that have been extremely productive, and have done their job at a high level. Kaaya isn't getting to throw nearly as much as he should, and he's handled it like an adult, he's a grown man out there. A lot of QBs with his tools would be beyond ****ed that they are getting half the attempts that other guys are getting. He's a leader, just not the bull**** artist leader you morons want. If you want someone to yell and scream and BS, go watch Donald Trump.

He seems to have what folks call "performance anxiety".

He will probably own virtually every passing record in the books by the time he's done and nothing to show for it.

I don't see him as a rallying type. I did find it interesting that he was a captain for the first time. That should tell you something about the guy - first time he's been elected captain.

Sorry. Meant to upvote not downvote.

Listening to Gino Torretta on WQAM the other day made me realize that Kaaya might not be our guy.

Classic UM QBs are tough, confident, gritty, and smart.

Brad is smart - but i don't think he has that UM toughness/grittiness to him.

He's a Cali pretty boy, actresses son, who likes soccer (explains the softness) a little too much for my liking.

You do realize we had a couple of great Cane QBs that were from Cali right?

Including Gino who he's referencing.

The substance of what Kaaya is referring to is the banner campaign. You might not like it but current players and recruits see the banners and they don't just say "Wow, these banners are great." There's a flip side too.

Tough, yes. No doubt about that?

Good enough to carry a team to a win against an elite opponent? Nope. 0 for 3 against FSU. 58-0 defeat versus Clemple. A 40 point loss to UNC. 0 for 2 in bowl games against a couple of garbage opponents. No signature wins to speak of.

At the end of the day, you are exactly what your record says you are. Our QB is now 18-13, which is decidedly average. Simply not good enough to play at Miami.

Blame the coaches, blame the playcalling, blame the O-line, but at some point, you take the bull by the horns and make your own destiny. Kaaya has never done that, not once. ****, even the comeback TD drive wouldn't have been necessary if he didn't throw a terrible INT to get the Noles back in the game.

Tired of not winning when it matters most. Some things have changed for the better, but BK coming up short in big games hasn't.

N'Kosi Perry can't get on campus soon enough.

Why? The minute he loses to fsu or has a bad game you ****ers are going to turn on him. Just like duke and now kaaya.

Nobody ever turned on duke you dumb ***.

Nobody turned on duke? Check the facts dumb ***. People was calling him soft, people were saying he chokes in big games, were saying he always fumbles when he had only about 5 in his career. A lot of people was ready for him to go to the nfl because yearby was better than cook.

Y'all people are rich [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Word and I didn't see people talkin crazy about Dorsey after the Fiesta bowl either. That was just my imagination.

I remember folks turning on Duke as well. And I was dumbfounded then. Just as I am dumbfounded now. Our fan base is so weak and fickle. One game doesn't go the way that we planned and everyone is calling for Kaaya's head and anointing a 17 year old from Ocala as our savior before he even steps foot on campus. You know how many schools in the country would kill to have a Brad Kaaya on their team?

And some folks are calling for Richt's head too? Wtf? We can't even give the guy a half a season? We've been worshipping everything Richt has done since he arrived. Now we lose one game and thats it?

I get it. FSU has raped us for 7 years. We all would have loved to end that awful streak. But that streak is not on Richt. This was his first crack at FSU. And look at the roster he inherited. The fact that our defense is even respectable is a miracle in and of itself. Our fans are truly delusional.

I watched a 5 minute highlight reel on him yesterday and he's already doing things Kaaya can't do. He has a natural ability that can't be taught and I think he starts his freshman year.

I love how he feels the pressure, avoids it, and keeps his eyes downfield. There were a few plays where he could've run for 10-15 yards, but saw a guy open last second and threw it for 30 yards. He can run, but doesn't look to run immediately. His legs are going to win us some games.

Yea he might start as a rsfr. Dude is 165-170 has to learn a pro-style offense and isnt a early enrolle.

I see both sides of this debate. We are all upset. We lost in the worst way possible. I just can't get past the fact that if we make that one kick, which is one of the freest points in all sports, not only would we be talking about that dime of a throw on 4th down, but we would probably also be talking about an iconic OT throw to win it after holding FSU to 3. A similar moment to Dorsey to Shockey to best FSU in 2000.

I totally get the pick was unacceptable. But he atoned for it with that 4th down TD. That was gritty to me, and all he needed was his K to hit the extra point, and give him the chance to make a second throw in OT.

IT just hurts all around.

He's very good come on guys.
Now he does not sense pressure well at all and he's Peyton like with moving in the pocket he's a sitting duck honestly.
When given a clean pocket dude is excellent.
