I don’t disagree with you. He doesn’t get a pass for it at all.

I still can’t believe Horton dropped that pass and I absolutely can’t believe that RESTREPO of all people gave up a fumble for a TD when we absolutely couldn’t afford it.

Guidry will give Mario nightmares for seasons to come if this year doesn’t pan out.

2. Every team is trying to buy a championship right now especially us

3. People wondering if we are suddenly broke are missing it. Other teams are loaded as well and we can’t just “overpay”

Mario has major support among donors and the people that matter in school admin. Joe E. is 100% behind him, and the major school donors are too. His seat is as Ice Cold as any in the country. And as much as I’ve had issues with him (I blasted him after the Iowa State bowl loss on here) The reality is, in this landscape, nobody has the resources to play for every elite recruit or angle. Cantwell also definitely changed the calculus for us on available $$$. However, a lot of recruits are also just doubtful of our trajectory. We gotta have a minimum 10-2 regular season + ACC Championship to keep up the momentum. Need Beck to be a Top Five pick. Narrative needs to continue to change.

The bolded should be emphasized more. It’s not memtioned often enough. Mario is trying to compete with the big dogs and certainly won’t win them all due to many factors.

Not the whole season! But, definitely one of the best teams in the first 5-6 weeks! Just like tenn, bama til they lost! But that Kentucky loss did him in! Just like gt and syr did us in.

Bro they had five kids picked in the first 2 days of the draft, including a Round 1 QB.

8 total NFL picks....two first-rounders, two second-rounders, and a third-rounder.

Ohio State only had 7 drafted in the first 3 rounds, Ole Miss had 5 and didn't even make the playoffs.

Perkins is probably going to be a first rounder in the next draft.

That team was loaded, and he blew it. I'm not sure how you can say the first 5-6 weeks when they beat the living dog**** out of UGA in November.

Draft picks don't make it a great season or even a great team! Only team who had a great season is OSU and they even lost to an average at best Michigan team!.....good/great players yes great team no...OSU had a bunch of draft picks and still lost a game!....did vandy have a great season even though they beat baga?

I hear you sir, and I'm NOT saying they had a great season. I'm saying they had a ton of talent and underachieved, and on this board Lane is the 2nd coming of Christ, so I wanted to make sure the Lane Stans understand he took a really talented team and choked away 3 games.

Also yes, Vandy won 6 games and went to a bowl, and they beat Alabama. Of course they had a great season. It's Vanderbilt.

Very little, but he's flashy and obnoxious and for a somewhat football illiterate fanbase that falls in love with anything shiny, he looks the part. We're talking about the same group of people that thought that Mike Leach(RIP) was a championship level coach. Mike and Lane are very, very good coaches, IN THE RIGHT CIRCUMSTANCES, but you aren't winning titles or competing for championships with them at the helm. Their quirks and inattention to large segments of roster construction and complementary football precludes them from ever building a team that can compete with elite programs.

Nobody is celebrating, but I know for a lot of you it’s hard to find anything between “everything sucks” and “everything is perfect”. Talking about hot seats after one of the two best seasons in the last two plus decades is some truly stupid ****. This program has done ******* nothing over the last twenty years to even be mentioning hot seats after a ten win season.

And no. The Nebraska fate is having an idea of yourself as a program where you think you’re entitled to being better than a consistently solid program because of who you were before HD television so you fire a head coach and then turn into a steaming pile of ****.
