Has Mario lost the support of the big money donors

Not the case. The money is there.

We had higher offers for most of the kids we lost including both safeties.

Miami has to win SOMETHING this year. Year 4, put up or shut up. Because the last two years kids have been watching this programnself destruct at the end. Time to go from "improving" to "winning"

To me, it certainly feels like this is what happened and UM no longer has the ability to outbid others. And If I am correct, then it certainly would mean that UM has peaked, or will peak this season, but does not have a sustainable model.

I would love for our insiders to be honest with the rest of us as to why UM seemingly does not have the financial ability to compete at the very highest level (top 5).

I love UM football, but if we are a second tier football program then let’s be honest about it. Let’s be Louisville, or Maryland, and embrace who we are. Or better yet, let’s be Duke and stop squandering our limited resources on football and focus on basketball and baseball wehre those funds could be moire effective. What I am tired of being is a program that acts like it should be in the top 5, but can’t spend as needed to be in the top 5. We will become, if we are not already, the last ones to know that the joke is on us.
We've reached the "let's just be a baseball school" part of the cope. The No. 1 player in the entire class committed less than a month ago and I am pretty sure he didn't come cheap.

As @gogeta4 (sorry to drag you in) pointed out previously, pretending like we should be pulling defensive backs from Metro Atlanta and defensive lineman who go to high school ON LSU's campus is delusional.

Cooper will be a tough pill to swallow and James Johnson is a bad loss as well, but I'd rather be in those battles than not. We haven't won a god**** thing since I was in high school and yet we think we should be beating the best schools in the country for every prospect?

So you think the big money donors went all in for Cantwell and Beck and then turned south without a game even being played? That's crazy.

I personally think Cantwell opened up donors eyes at other schools to see the level of spending needed. The feel of this years class is more about the biggest dollar than the past couple of year. Agents are releasing dollar figures for $2 million a year prospects they are getting signed.

Miami does what they can with NIL, but they will never be up there with the blue bloods. Why, bc it’s a ******* private school with a significantly smaller Alma mater. Let’s stop being intentionally obtuse. They will compete as much as they can in NIL, but if they want to be up there with the best it’s gonna take superior coaching and scouting. So y’all need to relax.

So we don’t get a few recruits we were going after and this board acts like the sky is falling. I thought only gator fans acted like this.

Would love to mix transfer portal recruiting along with high school recruiting and then tell me how we've done the last two years. Are we still outside the top 10?

Mario has had UM in a "Dog Fight" with the Big Boys of college football, I can't remember the last time UM was in so many Final Cuts for the Top Blue Chip recruits. Money ain't the issue here, Positive Winning is the determining factor in these Big Boy Battles.

All we heard from the braintrust was we were the leader or favorite for all these kids. Now, not so much. I get we haven't been good for 20+ years, but we were all sold on all these kids being leans to the good guys, and now it seems were out on just about all of them. Just crazy to me.
Thank God I didn’t follow recruiting this cycle. It’s not like it used to be where there was reliable info to a higher degree. Staff doesn’t even know what’s what anymore and I’m not criticizing them for it. It’s the nature of CFB today.

Every year it’s the same **** on this board. There are 136 fbs schools and 10+ blue bloods (of which Miami is not). Suddenly if we can’t land a top 5 class it means we are Louisville or duke and should give up on football.

In July by the way.

This is insanity.

Anything in the top 10 recruiting is a major win. You guys act like spoiled children.

Michigan recently won a natty with the following classes (no top 5)

2022: 9th
2021: 13th
2020: 10th
2019: 8th

Notre dame was in the national title game with their 2020-2024 ranked classes as 14, 9, 6, 10, 10. (No top 5)

Miami last 4 classes were 11, 14, 7, 4. If not for a d coordinator that forgot how to coach we would have been in the playoff.

The sky is not falling, log off the board and come back 8/31

Facts. I told a poster to choke on a **** just days before I was Mauded by Androol.

Those schools have better coaching.

Woah. Slow down. I read @DMoney’s posts the other day. Basically, we’re doing well with national kids who are not as intimately familiar with the program’s failures of the last 2 decades as compared with local kids who are. I don’t think it has anything to do with money or NIL.
That's all a smoke screen. The bottom line is local kids are mercenary ******** and there are very few Alonzo Highsmith/Duke Johnson/Jaquan Johnson character guys that realize what staying home can do for the community.

This is dumb. Miami is top 20 in Ultra High Net Worth alumni (which includes all the Ivies, Stanford, MIT, etc) so we are easily top 10 for football schools .... we have several billionaires investing in the school and athletic programs.

I’m old enough to remember people clowning the QB from OSU saying you go to Miami for money and OSU for championships

It’s really not all that funny though

Money is clearly there but good employees like benefits as well
