Harrison-Hunte Update

While the offense didn't produce as expected under Coach Richt, he did many good things for the program. He was responsible for (among other things):

  • last year's stellar recruiting class (which will be a major component in our resurgence)
  • hiring Manny Diaz and a defensive staff that gave us one of the top 3 defenses in the country last year (1st in pass defense, Top 3 in TFL, Total Defense etc)
  • a catalyst for the IPF getting done
  • donating $1 mm to the IPF
  • walking away without financially crippling the football program
  • teaching the players how to be quality citizens (in addition to football players)

CMR is gone. Why the need to say negative things when he was unquestionably classy in walking away?
Negative? It’s just honesty. This program has been a dumpster fire for 15 years. The real question is why the need to lie to each other about it? Richt was not good. It is what it is. Nt personal. Just fact. Just say it and quit with the angst.

Thanks for the update but really don’t even need anymore info on this kids. Unless the ink is dry on a LOI for the U.

Richt was a disaster. Be glad he’s gone. That he did this or that okay doesn’t change the conclusion. Richt should be glad Golden left him with the roster he did or it would be worse. And aint no one runnin around praising Golden. One incomplete recruiting class in 3 years isn’t enough to celebrate a failed coach for, either.

The desire to praise Richt seems weird around here. Coker was a nice guy who won a natty. Sucked as a Hc. Shannon was a Cane brought in to fx the Coker culture. Sucked as a hc. Golden was a doofus brought in to fix the Shannon mess. Sucked as hc. Richt was a former Cane brought in to fill the seat Golden was in. Filled it just about like Golden did. Which is poorly.

I am optimistic Diaz will be better. Time will tell.

Thus in your mind failed for coach richt must mean, the 1st bowl win in 10years in 2016 meant nothing, the 1st legitimate coastal division title since we been in the Acc and an acc championship game appearance along with the 1st 10 win season since 2003 or in almost 14yrs meant nothing because of last year, oh ok!

If your definition of success is winning our division once, then you’re the spitting image of the soft discrimination of low expectations. Being modestly less of a dumpster fire than the prior guys doesn’t make you a success. In the land of the blind the one eyed man is king.

Richt quit. Think about that. He himself doesn’t think he succeeded at Um. No need for you to claim otherwise.

HE RETIRED FOR SUCKING HIS LAST YEAR.

CAPS LOCK FOR EMPHASIS

LoL, you have a fixed thought process, instead of understanding what progress is you actually are trying to down play recent and actual True accomplishments, the "scorned woman spirit" continues to be alive and well.

Like we were all here, we know we sucked this year but Jesus, it's the definition of beating a dead horse at this point.

He did some good things here and some things obviously poorly but he did us a solid when he left so I don't see the point in dragging his name through the mud in every thread where someone says something positive about the man.

It's over. Let's move on.

Being able to get kids back on campus for a second visit has been a major plus. Hunte and Emerson both seem likely to be Canes. Im sure the new energy around the program and the second visits are a big reason why they may end up Canes.

Not to ruin a positive post, but I think Bogle deciding not to use his final visit here should give a pretty clear indication of where we stand with him.

Diaz said upon taking the job that the place(UM) kids visited in Dec, is not the place it is now.

AND GOT AN IPF BUILT BY DONATING THE FIRST 1 MILLION HIMSELF. AS MUCH AS HE FAILED THE LAST YEAR AND AS MAD AS I WAS AS A FAN, HE STILL DID A TON OF GOOD FOR THIS PROGRAM DURING HIS TENURE. TIME TO MOVE ON.
That money essentially went to Richt Jr. Must be nice to make a cool 300k annually doing nothing.
