I am not sure either. Though I do remember when Butch came to "Consult" the Bucs under Shiano there was a lot of talk about he couldn't be involved in much of anything or he would lose his buyout. We shall see how sensitive they play it with him in regards to the wording.

I would love for you to point to something, football or otherwise, to indicate that Golden is indeed a "smart guy."

If you actually listen to the crap he says, and the words he misuses (in an attempt to sound bright), I fail to see how anyone would conclude that he is actually "smart." And his football IQ speaks for itself.

Garrett grew up in Monmouth County at the same time as Golden. He left NJ and went to high school in Pennsylvania but that's why they're friends. He has said it in interviews.

Will be interesting to see what level of "assistant" he is. Seems vague enough where he might not have even merited a position coaching job.
 
Im OK with Golden getting a job... It's Donofrio that I would question. This guy does NOT know defenses and DOES NOT have an eye for talent. Utterly useless as a coach. Golden's anchor and big reason he lost and got fired.

He probably would not have run another defense, but Donofrio did nothing to be successful. When is the last time we made half time adjustments to shut down another team? When did you ever say "that was a brilliant or even good" defensive game plan. The guy was just a loser... I don't wish Golden any ill will despite almost taking down my school and team...

Al Golden was/is the architect of that abortion of a defensive scheme. Based mainly on principals of another bum coach, Al Groh. Anything that you saw the defense do or not do on Saturdays was directly the result of Al Golden. Had he not been a completely stubborn moron, he could have fired D'Onofrio at some point and brought in a different coordinator with his own defense to run. Al decided he was going to force his defense on everyone and it cost him his job. Good riddance. Dallas sucks.
