Georgia NIL leak on Jackson Cantwell

This “chasing the bag” line is old and lazy. The 5-star and elite players, whether HS recruits or transfer portal kids, in most cases are going to the highest bidder. That’s why you align with Drew Rosenhaus or another agent to field offers and negotiate. Chasing a bag sounds somewhat dirty or bad when, in fact, it’s how the game is now played and what most of us would do if in the same situation.
Recruiting wether in NIL or under the table $$$, is a filthy, dirty business.
Drew 's just doing his job, Smart is fighting for the guy as a 5* and Drinwitz maybe PO about losing an instate guy and trying to ramp up his NIL $$$ at Mizou

Development is a personal choice
There were 37 composite 5* in the 2024. The SEC/B1G signed 31/37.

There were 32 in the 2025 class. The SEC/B1G signed 30/32. Notre Dame got one, Clemson got the other.

There are 30 in the 2026 class, with 12 already committed. The SEC/B1G is 11/12 so far.
In 2023 bama Uga and Texas signed a total of 13 with bama landing a whopping 7 five star players.

In 2024 ohio state bama and uga signed a total of fourteen 5 star players.

In 2025 both Uga and Texas signed 5 each.

It’s not so much the conference, it’s just a handful of teams that that take over 50% of all the five stars available.

Oregon jumped into the mix and threw a monkey wrench into the sec making five star players even harder to obtain.
The trenches and QBs we’re always expensive. Now it’s just getting into ridiculous levels because other schools are also paying.

What Uga is also telling Cantwell is that we will never win because we will not recruit at that level.

But they are telling hm that out of desperation. If recruits see that a school is starting to pile up five star talent they’re gonna wanna go to that school. If they start looking at other players that are committed to the school that they want to go to, and they realize that there’s a huge talent gap between their talent and the ones that are committed, they feel like they’re not gonna win or compete with other top teams. And that’s what uga is doing right now with Cantwell during his visit. It’s setting up meetings with other players that want to commit to Georgia. They have their five star QB there and are telling Cantwell that if he commits he’s gonna get the ball rolling and they’re gonna have a top class and they’re gonna continue to win and that that is something Miami can’t do.

Mirabal ***** on him any day of the week. This isn’t about that. Until Mario wins something worth a ****, he is going to continue losing these battles. Georgia is a serious contender in the SEC every year while Miami continues to be a pretender in the ****** ACC.
funny after 20+ years of being a non factor in Football, at least we seem to be in the hunt for theses type of players , wasn't to long ago they said Kirby could not win the big game....... now UGA is a powerhouse, 5 years ago we would not even be in the conversation in regards to a player of this caliber, times and programs change......

Speaking of elite prospects how’s 5 star Samson okunlola doing already going into year 3. You can spin the canes propaganda machine but at the end of the day those elite guys uga landed still played and went to the league. Francis will Samson won’t. 50% ain’t gonna cut it.
recruiting OL guys is hardest job college football, no matter how many stars,
samson & kindler Peter get some serious burn this year..... we'll see

Searles must baby sit all the head coaches kids for him to keep getting jobs. Either that or he makes a great thanksgiving dinner or some sh.

Its really just 6/7 teams hoarding most of the top talent, many of the teams in the SEC/BIG10 arent benefitting in the form of landing top talent.

You’re right, it is nice to be in 2nd or 3rd place instead of not being thought of.

Your point is taken, but you have to remember that we were. a considered a clown show by the Serious Players even as recently as the Mark Richt era.

Remember Paradise Camp? Remember when Jerry Jeudy showed up to grace the Canes with his presence (he still hadn't signed his LOI to Tuscaloosa). Jeudy was simply using Miami as a whistlestop. Nobody above a 3 star was seriously considering signing an LOI with Miami in those days.

Mario hasn't won a bowl or even sniffed the ACCCG, but he's got us competing with the big schools for top talent. But until we win consistently, the 5 stars won't be knocking at the door trying to get in.

use that money and build this class. Go get johnnie jones, get smith and get pickett. Throw the bag at copper, Russell, and a couple DTs. Don’t care what else they do

this is also correlated by who won the mnc.

If say Clemson or Miami won the MNC in 2025. In 2025 every kid we offer that may be borderline 3 or 4 star will get a rankings jump.
For example had Reuben Bain committed to us in June he likely wouldnt have a high a ranking...but the fact he strung it along and Bama was in play he had a high ranking and even a bump.

The sec and big 10 have 34 teams....and the best football players are from the deep south...you can just play the law of averages.

The acc though would of looked much better if they simply would of forced and added Notre Dame to football, i also think West virginia should be in the acc.

Dia Bell is **** near a 5 star or is one and most local ppl would tell you Mali Toney ran the offense just as good as he did and he aint play qb since youth ball.

I personally dont think us joing the big ten or sec would make us better recruiters or change much for us in particular.

And the ACC is getting lapped in the NFL draft as well

3-star recruits have a 6 percent chance of being drafted

4-stars 23.5 percent chance of being drafted

5-stars 62.3 percent chance of being drafted
