How bad is a calf strain? Never had one
Considering all the Achilles tears in the NBA following calf strains, I think the entire sports world is playing it safe with this issue.

I didn’t strain, but completely tore my gastrocnemius (calf) muscle, and brother, it’s a *****. I’m no orthopedic, but a strain doesn’t sound that far away from a tear and I am sure,in fact, it predisposes for a tear.

Like I said previously, I walked with a bad limp for weeks. Didn’t have surgery or anything - wasn’t necessary because I was a working stiff not a paid athlete. But I can guarantee you I couldn’t run for at least a month and a half or longer. I think there’s a lot here that we’re not being told.

There’s no gamesmanship here like they did with montrell Johnson. They have two games before lsu. And usf while g5 is a formidable opponent. They were a field goal away from losing to them two years ago. Lagway has to play that game.
That’s right. It was Johnson not Mertz that they were producing fake news on his availability.

Really ain’t worried about Lagway health. He’ll likely be ready for our match up that’s just how things work against the Canes. I’m just hoping new DC has a plan to prevent every QB from looking like a Heisman finalist against us.
For their sake he better be ready by the time they play USF.

FWIW: I spoke with my coworker, a DPT who graduated from UF. He said that in his opinion, if he's still in the boot beyond a week or so, it's likely going to take at least two to three months before he's full go. Either way, it's not good for a 240+ lb mobile QB to be in a boot beginning of fall practice.
