Been saying it like many others on this board, for months. The kid is more injured than they are letting on…
Yes! We said it all throughout the spring because it is true! We can list the injuries that Florida ITSELF has listed (shoulder, core, hernia, hamstring, etc.). These are not rumors if at some point in the past year, they have commented about them and then let the media and internet run wild without 1) actually addressing anything and 2) seemingly completing this poor kid’s actual medical treatment, which is why he just keeps getting worse.

It is obvious Billy was going to throw Lagway to the wolves this year to save himself when the kid could have taken a medical redshirt. Now he may be ruining Lagway’s entire career.

And there goes Miami’s #2 nonconference SOS because if we beat UF, it will already be justified and weakened. Just like last year.

I’m one who thinks Lagway has a lot of raw ability but he needs reps badly and he isn’t getting them. This could go badly for them.
Put it this way. He hasn’t taken any real reps since their bowl games against Tulane. Spring and fall camp is vital for young QBs. You’ll have a guy probably starting his first game of the year against LSU (they’ll sit him the first two weeks) with the same amount of reps he had last December. Crucial development that’s being missed.

And a lot of film on him that can dissect all his tells without him being able to practice adjusting out of them. Kid was already fast and loose with the ball. I expect lots of jumped routes and picks. Not saying he doesn’t have talent. But he’s being put in the worst possible position now.

Agree with all this. This particular injury itself isn’t necessarily worrisome. It is when it is pared with missing spring football, as well, that makes it a big deal. Durability now becomes a concern and removing QB runs from the playbook They are in bog trouble if he is a statue back there.

Same S&C staff that shepherded Watson.

This dude has had multiple off season injuries while he’s not getting hit or even playing football. There’s no way he ever plays a full season. He’s fragile.

On top of that, he’s a true sophomore who desperately needs all the practice reps he can get but he couldn’t play in spring and now will start fall unable to practice. They’re just going to throw this kid to the wolves once he’s physically cleared to play again

The film factor is underrated. It’s a big reason (along with injuries of course) why TVD regressed so much in 2022 and 2023. Once teams figured out his tendencies and that he was a one read QB, that was it.

Didn’t think about the QB run factor. Makes him much more one dimensional as a player.

I don’t know what the rationale would be to not start Lagway versus USF. I just don’t see it. If he can go versus USF, he will go. This is a game where it is within the realm of possibility that the turds could lose. USF is far from the better team, but they’re not Long Island either.

The only way he doesn’t play is if he’s injured to an extent where they couldn’t play him no matter who they were playing. But voluntarily sitting him for USF when he can go, I just don’t see it.
