97/98 is basically normal, especially for a home oximeter. So glad to hear it. Just keep taking what they tell you to take, just don’t let up on any of it. Hopefully this will all be behind you in a few days. Super glad to hear it.

It was 91 3 days ago so the treatments are working.
I fight the pneumonia thing a lot so I know what I need to do and don’t cut corners.Probably had pneumonia 5-6 times in the last 10-15 years...I usually get a pneumonia shot but I guess the COVID trumped the shot..lol

appreciate your concern but just know I’ve beat pneumonia 15-20 times in my lifetime and I’ll beat it this time...just takes time

****… I didn’t know that. That’s a lot of times to have an pneumonia. So the asthma predisposes you to get pneumonia. You already know the drill. So I wish you the very best. So you know how to deal with it, I was just assuming that you never had pneumonia before.

No when the weather changes back and forth( usually about this time and in oct/nov) I get head colds that I try to keep out of my lungs..I watch the color Of the Phlegm and when it starts to get darker it tells you it’s going from your bronchial into your lungs ..once it starts getting darker I head to the urgent care for what I like to call my holy Trinity...shot,Z -pac and antibiotics.It almost always works except when I wait too long to go cause I’m hardheaded and hate going to the Dr.
I had gone to the urgent care to get that when I got tested and found to be positive.
I had just gotten my first COVID shot on Thursday but they said I more than likely had the virus when I got the injection.

The virus has just made it harder to ward off the pneumonia but now that I’m through that they can fight the pneumonia which is now working.

sorry for the gross description above but it’s an easy way to tell if you’re going from a bronchial infection to pneumonia.

anyways yes I’m a pro at this.Something I’d rather have stayed in the minors with..lol

You know I hate to say I’ve never had pneumonia so I don’t even know what it feels like, but my daughter did have it when she was very young and it was a harrowing experience. Feel better.

Don’t hate to say..be thankful you never had it cause it’s not very nice when you grab for a breath and there’s not much there.Glad your daughter is ok

I think that you and I are brothers from different mothers. I've got multiple allergies, including being allergic to dogs, cats, house mold #2, and all 3 native grasses of Florida (bahia, bermuda, and St. Augustine, which is really a weed).

In my younger years, the combination of weather change and allergies would cause congestion, which would then turn to bronchitis, which would then turn to pneumonia. I too had the "phlegm color change" and would get the same prescriptions, but with the addition of an early prescription version of Mucinex. When Mucinex went OTC, I only had to get the Z-pack from the doctor.

It's probably been a decade since I've had the actual pneumonia, as I have become more aggressive with the self-care. Like you, I've hated going to the doctor early, but now that urgent care centers will write the Z-pack scrip if you basically just ask nicely, I tend to get one early in the cold/flu season and then buy a Costco-sized bottle of generic Mucinex.

And during Covid, I've been masking up like crazy, I have several dozen of the adidas and UnderArmour masks. Although I am healthy in all other regards, I've been very worried about whether I would need to be put on a ventilator if I contracted Covid. Fortunately, I've tested negative multiple times, even though I go out on a daily basis.

I'm still keeping you in my prayers, and I'm happy to hear that you are improving. Keep up the fight, my friend, and let us know how it all turns out.

The doctor told my father the pneumonia vaccine was 55% effective. This was after we finally got him to go to the doctor because he was sure it was just allergies and not pneumonia because he was vaccinated.

We also suffer from the seasonal allergies. We've been taking Claritin daily for years on doctor's orders and it helps to keep the respiratory system dry enough to avoid becoming a petri dish for worse stuff like pneumonia. My son's been on it since he was 3 because he was getting ear infections and sore vocal cords from drainage.

I'm glad to hear you're doing better. Hopefully you'll have it completely beaten before too long.

Man all the out pouring of well wishes and prayers from people I don’t know other than from a message board just proves to me that being a Cane fan is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I know it sounds corny but it really gets to me reading these posts and I’m so appreciative of the concern and that people I’ve never met or may never meet would take a minute out of their busy lives to say something
