3 ints in 44 attempts last year. Put him on pace for 22 if he attempted as many passes as tvd this year. 3 yard rushing average. Figured you missed those stats by accident.

Also he completed most his passes behind the line and the rest less than 5 yards from the line.

I am not anti Jacurri, i am anti *****ing on social media. Promise you that a qb who is offended by fans or coaches or whoever that post was directed at will never be the guy.

Portal is open until the first week of Jan so he’s still got time to enter if he’s going. But like you said, he’ll be way behind the many others that enter early.

Amen! We got a lot of revisionist history going on around this thread.

Don't get it twisted - both TVD AND Emory were outperforming JB before the season began. It was to the point where a lot of folks were wondering if he should switch positions, including me.

And, to be clear, I have no beef with the young man other than he needs to get in control of his social media and public perception.

JB is not in the place he was when he was a highly rated QB coming out of HS. There's a ton of competition out there for QB's and most of whom have way better tape and results than JB. He can't afford to throw shade right now.

As I've been saying - he's just a kid and kids make mistakes.

Within reason, kids should have a little wiggle room for getting emotional and doing something unwise in social media. It's not a cardinal sin at this point. He just needs to shut out all of the noise, draw upon all that he's learned during his RS year and show that he's improved.

That's it.

After the game, he can decide whether he should continue pursuing a career as a QB or if he should parlay his natural athleticism into another position that he could dominate at.

Personally, I think he could make a killer WR or bulk up, learn how to block and make for a killer TE. HOWEVER, I'm rooting against myself and hope that he proves me (and all the other objective observers) wrong and shows real chops behind center.

I'm glad he's starting and I feel that if Dawson calls a good game and JB doesn't try to do more than manage the game, we "should" be able to beat any 6-6/7-5 team they pair us with.

Do you believe he'll get a lot of interest as a QB? I feel like the tape he's put out there and not being able to beat out a true frosh, plus all of the free market competition would really limit his opportunities...?

Would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Him playing is huge because there was a fear he could hit the portal because they all want to get in asap to get their spot. Which makes sense. It’s huge to have him for the bowl.

Not all kids have spots when they enter , then there’s the ones who get new interest once they hit. That’s why getting in asap matters. JB likely has an idea but not all kids do. There’s a reason so many kids enter and just sit there and some never find a spot.
 
Probably just me holding onto hope that he stays, but feels like the potential risk on his end far outweighs the potential reward of playing if he’s planning to transfer and already has options.
 
I reread that cryptic post and agree with Donno, who talked about it in his Locked On Canes podcast today. IMO, JB was referring to the staff not the fans. Which makes me feel like he's gone after the bowl game, even though the Canesville guys say he's staying.

I will say this ... it was total and complete bullsh1t that Mario/Dawson never played JB this whole season. There were multiple series where having a dual threat RPO QB would have been tactically the superior decision. Especially that 1st and Goal v Louisville and the entire 4th quarter vs BC.
 
100% was referring to some members of the staff since they asked him to stay and play in the bowl game, but he didn’t feel that same sense of belonging and importance the previous 3 months of the season and off season. Thats all more than obvious and logical.

This is being used as the perfect deflection off of TVD. Same dudes who can’t manage to see any nuance or context regarding JB, also are the ones who see nothing but nuance, excuses and context for TVD. The truth will always come out, and then liars will adjust and/or play dumb.

If I had to say I agree with Donno. It wasn’t at the fans. The fans have been wanting him to play for weeks. Imo it’s kinda obvious.
 
I wish he would stay but no way. We would have to offer him qb1 next year and bring in no big name qb from portal . So he gone lol

really does suck that he’s leaving. He is flawed as a passer obviously but he can make **** happen like he did last year. I’m at least looking forward to watching him for 1 game
