Ok, here is why 8 wins gets him fired. I believe we start the season 4-0. If we finish 8-4, it means we went .500 WHEN IT MATTERED, in ACC play. We don't sniff the ACC title game, and he's fired. ****, even if we beat FSU and go 8-4, it means we probably started 5-0, then went 3-4 afterwards. 8 wins gets hime fired. I was once worried about him staying around with 8 wins, but after looking at the schedule, I'm not anymore.

With so much improvements, new apparel contract, a new president....Lol FOLDEN knows he has to win

Everybody calling him out...he is hearing it everywhere he goes....
 
Last year, we lost 7 out of 11 games vs FBS schools. And he's still here. Chew on that. It's gonna take an absolute embarrassment of a season to get rid of the tub o' lard.
 
The fact that Fake James won't give an absolute win total for GOrlden to keep his job tells you everything you need to know.
 
Don't bring up last year, it's irrelevant. New president and the old one wouldn't allow changes. Thing is everyone will be nicer about things in the media. So if the AD is telling the media they need to start getting those 10 win seasons then he's probably looking for reasons to make a change. It's either gonna be a good season or it we'll have the excitement of a coaching search.

those "me" players were the ones who coached conservative in the 2nd half vs. FSU

blows me the *** away that people are saying 8 wins is acceptable

I just can't support this sh*t anymore, last season to do what's right UM at least for me anyway

Well, let's not forget he ******* finished his 4th season like this, despite having an obscene amount of NFL talent, and he's still slithering around Coral Gables.

Do not underestimate the apathy inside the Hecht.

The expectations have hit rock bottom. No wonder when golden was asked if he felt this was a do or die year he said nope and that he wasn't worried.

We must band together now more than ever canes brethren... We all want folden and d'ontknowFRIO gone. I want them out of here in the worst way possible.

You guys have to be delusional if you don't think Blake has a minimum standards in his head for Al to keep his job this season. He just can't put that crap in the paper! This is college not the pros.

Me thinks that it's 9 wins and he has to win the coastal. He even alluded to it in a past interview. That he felt we had the talent to win the coastal this year. It's all the players are talking about. Winning the coastal.
 
Blake's standard is irrelevant because he will be fired with Golden. He is not the one making that decision.

The buyout comment is in keeping with everything reported last year: that it drops significantly after this season.

In the end I think how many games we win may have no bearing on whether Al Golden is our coach next year. I have heard from a few people in college football but not close to the program that the job is a terrible fit for Golden and, if he is smart, he will parlay any success into a different job. That (and the fact that I love the Canes) is the reason I am rooting for success this year. If we win a reasonable number of games, Golden gets hired away, and we have the recruiting momentum from a successful season and new coach, I will be extremely satisfied. A guy can dream, right? Also, I hope Florida loses every game.

8 wins is all he needs? He's def gone. Cause there is no way he's getting to 8 wins. he's 7 at best. Al Golden is basically a Perkins waitress...not ugly, but not pretty enough to work at Hooters.
