Former Auburn & Houston transfer DB Keionte Scott commits to Miami

My whole issue with this “debate” has been the inability to use words other than meaningless

Not saying you but it’s just a dumb hyperbolic nonsense word

Is the pop tarts bowl a big deal? No. Is it life or death? No.

Does it ******* matter in some way to a team that has 1 bowl win since many fans have been alive? Yes. Yes it does. And it matters to many players that play in the game and the coaches

So when dorks get on a message board and say it’s meaningless from their couches it’s just laughable really

Dork! Ouch. It's a standup desk not a couch.

My argument is there are better stats to reference than bowl records to illustrate what a failure the last 15y have been. You are right there is some meaning in the pop-tart bowl, so "meaningless" was not the best choice of words.

I'm going guess for most of us (at least the fake fans who have been following 30+years), we wouldn't be anymore satisfied with the last 15y if we won a few of the Emerald, Cheez-it, Pinstripe, Independence bowls over the last decade or so

Ok you should've left it alone and not gone with your "lazy" remark because now I'm gonna really embarrass you with some grown *** man research since a simple "lazy" bowl stat didn't satisfy you.

By your logic, Mario is also a bad coach. He's 0-2 in bowl games, which is the same start Shannon, Golden and Diaz had. Mario is also 4-10 in the final two months of the season, which is worse than Diaz.

Let's dive further into our bad finishes since the bowl record isn't good enough for you. We'll only look at November and December since that includes the final stretch.

2024: 2-3
2023: 1-4
2022: 1-3
2021: 3-1
2020: 3-2
2019: 2-3
2018: 2-3
2017: 3-3
2016: 5-0
2015: 3-2
2014: 1-4
2013: 2-4
2012: 3-1
2011: 2-2
2010: 2-3
2009: 3-2
2008: 2-3
2007: 0-4

That's a 40-47 record in November/December games from 2007-2024.

We've SUCKED down the stretch for nearly 20 years, no matter who the head coach has been. If I'm a fake fan, you're a dumbass naive fan. For the last time, non-homer fans trigger you. People living in the real world have seen for two decades that the Miami football program has been far from what homers like yourself make it out to be. Miami has not turned the corner yet with Mario.

0 ACC Championships, 0 Playoff Appearances and only 1 ACC Champ Game appearance, which we were blown out in 38-3.

And that, my friends, is how you KO TOC.

Yeah it’s funny how some of the more ugly debates on this board I think people actually just agree and use different words

Meaningless is just too black and white of a word

Just back up a few years when Richt was here and we won that bowl game against West Virginia

The tone of the fanbase and program was noticeably up a notch

Now grand scheme of things did it matter that much? Nah. But “meaningless”? Also no

Saying meaningless is just cope for losing all the time

You said to "state the truth and stop living in the past". Well the truth is above and the only one living in the past is you since your belief is the U is still on a 1987 level. The point is we've been seeing the same garbage late in the season in 2024 as we did in 2010.

0 ACC Championships, 0 Playoff Appearances and only 1 ACC Champ Game appearance, which we were blown out in 38-3.

******* hilarious. Especially hilarious that you think you "KO"d anyone.

But congratulations, you can Google. And you can cut-and-paste.

All you've done is restate EXACTLY what I said. That SINCE COKER, we've had mostly bad coaches (not including Richt). Three of the four were fired. Four of the last five if you even INCLUDE COKER.

So, OK, you got mad about the accurate "lazy" assessment and you put in a little extra keyboard work. Good for you. Still doesn't change things. We have had bad coaches (again, not including Richt) who didn't know how to maintain the focus in November or the post-season. None of this is new or groundbreaking information.

But we STILL have ***** fake-fans who keep acting like the past dictates our future. Soft-shouldered *******.

I'll keep this short and let you get back to your Googling.

"KO". Hilarious.

Yikes!

I’ve explained

You’ve explained

There’s a better chance of Nevin Shapiro being the next president of Miami than either one of us backing off of our stance that much I am positive

Fair points.

And not to convince you, but allow me to phrase it another way.

If the CFP field expands to 16 or more teams, and every single non-CFP bowl game disappeared, would anyone really care? Or miss the old "bowl" system?

This is why I hated the name-change from "Division I-A" to "Bowl Subdivision". At this point, we are crowning our football champion the same way that I-AA, Division II, and Division III do. With a playoff.

Exactly.

Bunch of ******* morons who think that:

1 Emerald Bowl trophy
1 Champs Sports Bowl trophy
2 Sun Bowl trophies
2 Russell Athletic Bowl trophies
2 Independence Bowl trophies
2 Pinstripe Bowl trophies
1 Cheez-It Bowl trophy
and
1 Pop-Tarts Bowl trophy

would somehow establish a magical 20-year dominant era of Miami football...

No words...

I don't know. 2016 was Richt's first year, and we also finished the year on a winning streak. We were recruiting well and we won the first 10 games of the next season. So the "tone is up a notch" had some legitimacy.

I still feel that most bowl games are unimportant and meaningless across Division I-A, not just for Miami individually.

But on a lighter note, I would point out that Richt had a FIFTEEN GAME WINNING STREAK across two years. And Prison Mike Norvell had a 19-game winning streak across two years. And even those fine accomplishments can't prevent a drop-off the next year.
