Mark Richt, having to follow the Randy Shannon disaster, Al Golden disaster, and the Shapiro disaster, that was several years of non-stop vicious media attacks on the Canes football program, requires a long-term rebuilding of a program that is unrecognizable from the glory days. What Coach Richt accomplished last year was possibly the best coaching job in the history of the program when everything is factored in, which is why the
experts awarded him coach of the year. There is no way to wave a recruiting wand over the nation's recruits and suddenly they will be clamoring to become Canes, especially when competing against monstrous, well oiled (money) recruiting machines that now dot the college football landscape.
Below, is a small sampling of the recruiting Coach Richt brought to the Bulldogs. Notice that with Coach Richt's recruits Kirby came close to capturing a National Championship, yet now with Coach Richt's recruits moving on, they've struggled. Mark Rich is a winner and with the support of
all Canes, he will bring National Championships back to Miami.
