FIU 5 Miami 0

Don't let the AD off the hook - he's just as culpable if he's not holding the highly paid head coach and his successor accountable. He's the one who gave the extension and announced the next head coach prematurely.

Oh I agree. Blake James is a puppet.

Got it. They were a national seed in 2010 with kids they recruited in 2007-8 because of the new facility they opened in 2011.

Miami has one of the highest paid coaches in America. Quit blaming this on the AD. We have a coaching staff that steals money.

Generally I agree with you, but ask yourself. If you could make $1M with job security, free reign, and seemingly no expectations wold you leave? This is on the AD. This is not a new issue, as you know, and have point out. It is the AD's job to see the state of the program, and make improvements as needed. The coach does his job, but if he fails, and is retained, that is not his fault....especially when his contract is extended.

Blake James should have made a move years ago. We have fallen way behind now, and one can only wonder how long it may take to recover. Naming a successor from a failing staff is an issue as well. Perhaps DiMare will work out, but I, like many, have serious doubts. At minimum, a national search should have been conducted for a program of UM's caliber, or at least what it once was.

You can always spot the emotional dorks who know little about the nuances of the game (regardless if we're talking football or baseball). Still waiting on Nick Linder and Odogflu to seize starting spots on our 2017 OL, Rok. A ******* roof on our batting cage isn't moving the needle on why we can't hit for ****.

Oh it goes far beyond an indoor batting cage. I'm just pointing out how far we've fallen behind in terms of giving ourselves the best chance to win.

We could fire DiMare and hire a new coach in a few years but if we still haven't employed the things that everyone else is using to maximize their ability then our ceiling will continue to be the occasional CWS appearance. It's become a lot like football in terms of what you can offer croots, and if we don't make some moves we'll sink even deeper I'm afraid.

Has nothing to do with emotion. We're stagnant in every way, not just coaching. I could understand you guys thinking that keeping up with facility/resources upgrades doesn't matter if we didn't just go through this with football. Look around schools in the SEC and see what's being done while we keep hanging onto a glorious past.

You are pretty gifted at never admitting when you're wrong. Holy **** lol. Mind you, my claim is that a lack of advancement in certain aspects related to player development is one of many reasons we suck. But you outright refuse to acknowledge that facilities matter when every other program has a covered batting cage at minimum. And we wonder why we're ending up with James Davison, Hunter Tackett, Michael Burns. The good players from down here are winning titles at Coastal Carolina and Florida.

2015 and 2016 were a total anamoly based on the success enjoyed by three or four guys who had to seek assistance to unlearn what's being taught at Miami. This goes way beyond just recruiting. We utilize none of the technology that's emerged since about 2010 and that's a major reason why the drop off has been so steep. You guys can't be this far out of touch. Preparing to win in baseball has changed dramatically to everyone but Miami. The program and AD are an absolute joke locally I promise you. Perhaps the easiest example of that is who our HC will be in 2019.

Florida is about to spend 11.2 million dollars on upgrades to their SOFTBALL facilities. Meanwhile at UM, where not a single **** is given about baseball, we're staring at a string of losing seasons while refusing to budge on any upgrades. We're affording ourselves no advantages and it shows. Stop skewing this to make it look like my argument is uncovered batting cages is why we can't beat FIU lol. Program is dead for a lot of reasons.

We are going to have to suffer through 10 more years of losing before Miami takes baseball seriously again and hires a Mark Richt caliber coach.

Imagine it's 2006. Coker is on the way out, and Randy Shannon was named coach. Now imagine Randy couldn't be fired from the job. That's where baseball is.

Incorrect. I'm all for upgrades in facilities and technology. I'm just aware that 16 strikeouts against FIU's bullpen has nothing to do with facilities.

We ended up with guys like that because Gino DiMare completely failed to manage the roster.

The good players from down here are winning titles at Coastal Carolina and Florida.

This is what makes you a buffoon. Coastal Carolina had one Miami-Dade kid. A .276 hitter. Florida had one Miami-Dade kid, a middle reliever who had 20 strikeouts all year. Florida currently has one Dade kid. Coastal Carolina has zero. Neither program wants kids from down here. Please respond in order to clear up your statement. Thanks.

You think it requires cutting edge technology to put a ball in play against a true freshman from FIU who has a 5.60 ERA?

I seem to remember that .276 hitter for CC getting hot and leading the way in their CWS run.

But you're right. The only reason we're not winning the CWS every year is because apparently DiMare is stuck on recruiting kids who look good in a uniform. Got it.

You're not getting off that easy. You said best players (plural) from down here are winning titles (plural) at Coastal Carolina and Florida. There is one Miami-Dade player on both rosters combined. You failed. Again.

We're not winning the CWS every year because that's impossible. We're not making the post-season anymore because of DiMare's failure to recruit well enough to replace guys who left after 2016. This isn't calculus. It's simple. When you recruit good players you win games.

I didn't use the word best but ok. And that SS for CC got drafted in the 4th round after winning a title.
Perhaps if we had him at 2B next to Lopez we don't go 0-2 bbq in 2016. But he doesn't look good getting off the bus so DiMare didn't want him. I get it.

edit: Schwarz for UF is from Palm Beach and won a title. That makes two players (plural) from the tri-county area who won the CWS recently.

another edit: UVA's 1B in 2015 was from also from Palm Beach.

So basically every year we get to watch kids from South Florida win the CWS playing at better programs where winning is prioritized.

Florida's best hitter Johnathan India (.416 average 10 doubles 14 home runs) is from coral springs. Their second best hitter JJ Schwarz (.301 avg 12 doubles 10 home runs) is from Palm Beach. You are an idiot.

Hold on......you're saying that players from South Florida often end up at other programs? GTFOH. How are we not landing all 100+ college bound kids from the tri-county area every year?

Buffoon.

Gotcha, now we're including everyone within 100 miles of UM's campus. We have to land all of them.

Speaking of idiots........

One week ago: "Pittsburgh doesn't compare to us."
Today: "We don't have the resources to compete anymore."

Life comes at you fast, PGrady.

PGrady before Pitt: "The postseason run starts with a sweep this weekend."

Nailed it, dude. Nailed it.

Coral Springs is 100 miles from Miami? Whew. That kid has more homeruns than our entire team. He is likely going to lead Florida to back to back national championships.

Yeah, we should have swept Pittsburgh after beating clemson 2/3. Thanks for keeping up with my predictions though.

This was my full quote since you like to cherry pick things that fit your agenda. BTW, we gave up 5 runs in 3 games. Most teams sweep giving up 1.67 runs a game. Fact.

"I understand that it's hard to sweep, but when you're at home playing against a team from up north, I expect a sweep. There's no way they can match our talent, even with the gaping holes on the roster. All 3 of our weekend starters are legit, we just have to find a way to score more runs. We just beat Clemson at Clemson and won a big midweek game. The postseason run starts with a sweep this weekend"

So we should have recruited better? You're starting to sound like JaromirJagr. You're so confused that you can't keep up with your own arguments.

Pittsburgh doesn't compare to us......oops........we just can't compete anymore. That's a major flip in a matter of seven days.

Right, you said that the postseason run starts with a sweep against Pitt. One week ago you thought we had a team that was going to go on a postseason run. Today the program is hopeless because we don't have a covered batting cage. You flipped that much in one week.

If technology and facilities were such an issue, you guys would have been here talking about those things in January. Instead, you were making predictions of sweeps and postseason appearances one week ago. Buffoons.
