Switch out coaching staffs from Miami vs Louisville and Miami would walk Louisville like a dog. Throw in Gatech staff in there as well too

Okay, so you're on board with saying that we should bring in Brohm or Key. Got it. This will age very poorly, but at least you put your name behind someone.

He has power, resources, and a dedication to this program no one else has or will have. Does he stink as a coach? You’re **** right he does. But he is a **** good program builder top to bottom that can identify, evaluate, and develop talent which has significantly raised the floor of this program.

He will never get over the hump. That is a fact. But he can consistently win 9 or 10 games which is very important to make this program attractive/desirable for not only the ever changing college landscape but also the next coach (whenever that may be)

I will never argue with anyone that says if you gave X coach this type of power and resources they could win more than Mario. But it is extremely unlikely that any coach will ever have the power Mario has so there is context to all of this
You hire the right coach who can do more with less and eventually the money will come

Pick any HC who has done less with more, Mario is not the ONLY solution for returning greatness

Sounds easy, right? Like how Justin Fuentes was going to own the ACC after "doing more with less". Or Jim McElwain. Or Mike Norvell. Just pick "any" of them. What could possibly go wrong?

This program is in the best position it's been in about 20 years. Facilities have improved. The coaching staff is solid overall. And we have an overall as or more talented team than we have had since Coker was HC. Mario (and the money that came in with him) have absolutely been a driving force in that talent acquisition and improvement. I think it's accurate he's the best HC we've had here since Butch Davis (Richt not it for health reasons).

But, we also can't pretend Mario the HC doesn't have legitimate problems. The meddling. The penalties. The questionable calls. And, if you're looking at results, the volume of losses to teams we should beat by double digits (usually because of some combination of the 3 preceding things listed). He's certainly not a HC that is beyond question, but I think most people would agree he's still a top 25 HC in college football.

At the end of the day, improvement or none, warts or not, all that matters in this business is results. And now, in year 4, the results must follow. Get to the CFP by any means necessary (I'd prefer those means include an ACCCG appearance, too, but whatever). It's that simple. The HC who can do that and maintain that level of performance should have our support. And any HC who can't should be asked to kick rocks.

It's not a slam dunk, no.

But the resources Mario has at his disposal dwarf what those other coaches were given (with the possible exception of McElwain, who had a better record than Mario, in a much tougher conference)

I hope that you are right about Mario taking us to the promised land, however, it is hard for me to believe with his game day gameday buffoonery is going to keep Miami from beating teams with equal talent and coaching staff that can attack weaknesses or tendencies

But he said pick any guy who has done more with less. So we get rid of the buffoon who can only go 10-2 and go after _____________ who takes us to 9-3, 7-5, etc. Again, I know Mario is the center of everyone's universe, but you can't just keep trying the next guy.

He’s not going anywhere right now. Let him just get the infrastructure settled for another half decade, get the talent situated (hopefully), become relevant on a yearly level again…and finally - when even the slurpiest of slurpers on here can’t fathom losing another game as a double-digit favorite to keep us out of the playoff despite going 10-2 again, then we’ll revisit the “he’s our UGA Mark Richt, or James Franklin, or Bo Pelini”.

You do have to be careful what you wish for - that I’m not arguing. It could easily revert back to worse conditions (just look at Nebraska).

But, it’s disingenuous to think that because we’re in a better situation now, that it can’t get even better. What if we had (I’m gonna **** people off but hey, the truth hurts) - similar funding, Kiffin calling plays, and Heatherman at DC? What if we had Will Stein calling plays? What if we had Jeff Brohm calling plays? Insert plenty of names here, Etc.

Just food for thought. There’s benefits and drawbacks to all encompassing scenarios.

Unfortunately - if the funding is directly tied to Mario (which I think with each passing day, becomes less true and will inevitably be used as just a tool for fear of the alternative, but anyways), then we’re kind of just stuck. Because in this day and age, you need money to compete. No ifs, ands or buts about it.

But I’m pretty confident guys like Dana White, or Bezos, or Trump, or anyone else you want to name other than a select few, would still donate to the university. Rich people love power and publicity, never forget that - no matter who’s in charge, and especially if competition is involved.
