I saw you mention this in another thread. Are you talking about 2 ESPN announcers having 2 minutes of silence at the beginning of the second half of a Women's NCAA tournament game between South Carolina and Howard? That is the only example I could find via Google.
If so, give me a break. They still broadcasted the action. ****, most people watch games with the sound off anyway because the announcers usually suck. I can only imagine how bad the broadcast team is for a 1 seed vs 16 seed game in the NCAA Women's tournament. The score of the game was 44-4 at the half. Truly ending the broadcast would have been a blessing, but they didn't do that. What is the saying? If a tree falls in the forest... I doubt you were even watching that game to begin with.
My biggest complaint would be if you are going to do a "protest", do it where it would really get press and move the needle. ***** doing it during a NCAA Women's bball game with a .01 share and the few who are watching more than likely agree with your views. Get some brass balls. Do it during the Masters Tournament where you can really rustle some feathers with an entirely different demographic. lol
As long as the protest doesn't affect the game itself, I couldn't care less.
To me, being "woke" is being overly sensitive in one direction or the other. Yes, those announcers were woke in doing a 2 minute pre-game protest. However, I think it is pretty "woke" to codify that law in the first place. Has there been a huge upswell in teachers discussing their sexual exploits with 5-8 year old kids? Not that I am aware of. Why not codify all the other subjects that should not be mentioned to 5-8 year olds? Bestiality, murder, crime, religion, guns, drugs, etc. If you don't, it just appears like you are taking a cheap shot at a group in the minority to make political points. At the end of the day, just another day in America during the '20's.
