ESPN loses 22k subscribers

So expecting to be treated as a full citizen is "Victim Mentality"? Demanding that our constitutional rights are protected and respected is "Victim Mentality"? Demanding that the disgraceful policies that we have to grapple with today be discussed openly and corrected is"Victim Mentality" ?

Amazing that us demanding basic human rights ****es you off you much.

If I could become your supposed not full citizen like Kap and make the millions he does. Sign me up. GTFOH. This country allows people of all races, religions, *** to succeed if they're willing to work for it. There successful individuals of every identity to prove it. Only thing standing in someone's way is their own attitude. This isn't the forum to carry on this conversation regardless. I'll leave it at that.

Lol At saying they are doing well cause of the false positive increase in subscriptions. The article actually gives You the answer. They didn’t get new subscriptions they just bundled them in with hulu live tv subscribers and increased the live tv price. Like magic!!!! Easy gimmick to fool the public. Forced subscription increase. Post huge numbers of increase and people Think they are doing awesome.
You might not like it and it might not fit the artificial standard of "doing awesome" that you've created but the mere fact that they're able to do it says more about their sustainability and profitability than any positive or negative p-r about ratings and subscription rates.

I say this as someone that has major issues with where streaming actually went with sports vs where we hoped it would go too. Ridiculous to have to go outside of Hulu to get godforsaken Bally Sports for Heat games or for those incessantly unable to get access to the ACC Network. That said, eSECpn has positioned itself above those gripes by essentially being available on most platforms and now pulling the bundling tactics that you're complaining about.

The fact that you think people wanting basic human rights is "Woke" is all I need to know. Amazing how people think that it's perfectly fine for a man to be cheered on by thousands on Saturday but be harassed when he goes to vote on Tuesday, merely because the color of his skin. Amazing that the same people that whine about "Woke" culture look the other way as the FLAG OF TREASON is waved in public, but a man demanding that we live up to our ideals is blackballed from his profession.

Wow. Wanting basic human rights is not woke. Stopping coverage during a live telecast of a game as a form or protest over a law regarding talking to 5-8 year old kids about sexuality is woke. And what in the ever living **** are you talking about with the flag of treason and looking the other way? The confederate flag? Who once said they support that or look the other way? That says a lot more about you and tells me all I need to know about how you try to stereotype everybody who doesn't agree with everything you believe

I saw you mention this in another thread. Are you talking about 2 ESPN announcers having 2 minutes of silence at the beginning of the second half of a Women's NCAA tournament game between South Carolina and Howard? That is the only example I could find via Google.

If so, give me a break. They still broadcasted the action. ****, most people watch games with the sound off anyway because the announcers usually suck. I can only imagine how bad the broadcast team is for a 1 seed vs 16 seed game in the NCAA Women's tournament. The score of the game was 44-4 at the half. Truly ending the broadcast would have been a blessing, but they didn't do that. What is the saying? If a tree falls in the forest... I doubt you were even watching that game to begin with.

My biggest complaint would be if you are going to do a "protest", do it where it would really get press and move the needle. ***** doing it during a NCAA Women's bball game with a .01 share and the few who are watching more than likely agree with your views. Get some brass balls. Do it during the Masters Tournament where you can really rustle some feathers with an entirely different demographic. lol

As long as the protest doesn't affect the game itself, I couldn't care less.

To me, being "woke" is being overly sensitive in one direction or the other. Yes, those announcers were woke in doing a 2 minute pre-game protest. However, I think it is pretty "woke" to codify that law in the first place. Has there been a huge upswell in teachers discussing their sexual exploits with 5-8 year old kids? Not that I am aware of. Why not codify all the other subjects that should not be mentioned to 5-8 year olds? Bestiality, murder, crime, religion, guns, drugs, etc. If you don't, it just appears like you are taking a cheap shot at a group in the minority to make political points. At the end of the day, just another day in America during the '20's.

Yes, there is a huge upswell if you look at the statistics and examples. There are teachers and school staff helping and encouraging kids to transition without their parents knowledge or consent. And this law was for K-3 aged children. Would you want your first grader being taught what pansexual meant at school? It's sad and pathetic a law needs to be passed regarding stuff like this, but here we are. There are laws regarding religion in public schools. Murder, gun, drugs, are kind of illegal so not really the same thing. If there was an issue with teachers and school staff discussing selling crack or what guns to use when shooting somebody, I'm pretty sure there would be laws passed immediately.

Whether or not I was watching the game does not matter, and I sure as **** was not. What matters is they stopped coverage of a live sporting event to protest a law in one state. That is pushing their agenda, which is the entire point of this discussion.

I have looked and don't see this huge upswell as you say.

In fact, the only thing I could find are situations where a teacher discussed inappropriate material and was summarily fired. No law needed.

At the end of the day, boycott what you want to boycott. If 2 minutes of silence (while still being able to see the action of a basketball game) and the announcers who participated in the silence weren't fired by ESPN bothers you that bad then just don't watch it.

To me, it is just petty. It's like people not watching games on Fox because they show the prayer asking for blessings from Jesus Christ at the beginning of a NASCAR race on Fox. I'm sure Jews, Muslims, atheists, etc. don't want to have that agenda pushed on them either, but you know, the majority of them can seem to handle it, like the majority of people can handle ESPN with their agenda bs as well.

This was a broader discussion and I was giving an example. I don't think I've watched a single girls basketball game on tv in my lifetime. I think they should show it to prisoners at Guantanamo Bay as a form of punishment to terrorists to get them to talk. I might tune in to watch the Cavendar twins play though.

You keep trying to compare things that aren't comparable. If Fox cut from the broadcast of a live race to go back to a person in studio lecturing or protesting something in politics, I would have an issue with that too. I don't know anything about Nascar so no clue if a prayer is said before races, but they are broadcasting something happening live at the race as part of the pre-race program. If you can't see the difference in between those two then we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.
