ESPN loses 22k subscribers

You took the words out of my mouth. I am a prime example of this number manipulation. I was previously an espn+ subscriber on my own years ago. The day they announced the Jemele Hill/Colin Krapernick interview I canceled my sub. A year or two later I now had switched to Hulu from regular Concast cable and guess what? It's included in my package and I am now counted as both an espn+ and disney+ subscriber even though I didn't subscribe to and don't use either. See how that works?
Ironic that you have Ed Reed's photo in your profile and have a problem with Kap, despite Ed Reed coming out on MULTIPLE occasions and stating that he supported the guy and supported what he was talking about.

Im glad someone on here is honest enough to just come out and say what they are referring to when they say "I dont like mixing politics and sports". Like we are over here talking about the some oil crisis in the middle east. We all know the kind of "politics" that is being referred to so lets all just come out and say it and be grown ups here.
Exactly. They would be a lot happier if those awful coloreds just took the crap heaped upon us, and kept entertaining them at the same time.

A lot of our "Fans" belong at Alabama or LSU with their viewpoints. Ill never understand how someone can cheer for a program, a school that hasn't nor will ever tolerate the subjugation of others. Miami as an institution has been willing to embrace diversity and that isn't changing.

Maybe he admires Ed because he worked his a$$ off to become the GOAT and didn't resort to playing identity politics and succumb to the victim mentality. You don't know what's in Ed's heart or mind anymore than the next man. What the **** is he supposed to do in this current woke/cancel climate? Everyone saw what happen to Drew Brees.

There's people of all races that play sports. I believe most fans looked at sports as an escape from regular life and politics. I don't see anything wrong with not wanting that to be injected.

This is pretty ignorant. Just because people aren't woke and dont want progressive agenda shoved down their throats by espn during games doesn't mean they are racist rednecks.

Politics has always been a part of sports, pretending that it is a new phenomenon is willful ignorance. Sports, like most activities tend to reflect the society at large. Let's cut the nonsense, the "Keep politics out of sports" crowd are mostly people that are mad that "Those People" are the ones saying something.

When Joe Louis knocked out Schmeling, and for one of the few times in history, White people actually gave a **** about a Black man, that was a political moment.

When Jackie broke the color barrier, that was a political statement.

When John Carlos and Tommie Smith took a stand at the Olympics, that was a political statement.

Keep in mind, this happened at a sporting event, and it led directly to Ross Barnett defying JFK in regards to integrating Ole Miss.

I know its been a part of the sport I just dont care a bout it, if every game had politics i would just watch the news lol. I watch it for entertainment, I play videogames for entertainment. If I colored pokemon cards I do it for entertainment. And I got racially profiled and pulled up on by police all that ****, I grew up in that **** and still in that ****. i just dont give a *** I let the big man watch me upstairs and let him judge me not others, I look at people as people thats it. Either they are ****** people or good people and good people do bad things as well.....we all human. And its not my job to figure out whos who, everyones rotten inside.

Can football season get here soon enough? At this point, why is this thread still on the football board? Mods, shouldn't this be moved to a non-sports board?

Look, we all know this country is so f*$ked up right now and it is because of people on both extremes. Get rid of the snowflakes on both sides and the country will be in a much better place.

I will say it is ironic that many who were happy and agreed with the "Citizens United" Supreme Court decision are now upset corporations are overtly making political statements and actions.

Personally, I watch very little ESPN nowadays, but that's because I lean more on streaming services. I hardly watch TV anymore. I never watched much ESPN programming to begin with, but they have lost a lot of talent and have replaced it with less talented folks or more Stephen A. Smith, who was ok in small doses as a b-ball guy but is now the expert on every sport.

Anyways, I find it ironic to hear complaints of the "herd mentality" but then those very folks jump on board the bash Disney and ESPN train. Same thing.

I wish politics would stop becoming teams and instead folks would simply be centered on helping this country and its people continue to advance and progress. This ride or die party mentality kinda sucks.

@Tad Footeball actually you are 100% wrong

Nfl, nba and mlb have taken huge hits with promotion of the woke brigade. When it started hitting them in the pocket, they quickly reversed the in your face wokeism. Believe it or not It is 100% true.

- Anti American and Racist Kap? Gone
- kneeling for the national anthem disrespecting our great country and our military? Gone
- BLM corrupt shakedown and money laundering organization shaking down companies all While rampaging thru cities burning buildings and looting stores? Support gone

There were massive internal meetings, investigations, polling etc on why they were losing money, eyeballs, people in the stands. The pinheads at these orgs thought because the media gas lights everything giving a false sense of acceptance and they everyone supported this junk and they live in the new york bubble thus insulated from everyday Americans their core audience, they should push the woke bs. It backfired.

They quickly reversed course and went back to the off hand woke bs stuff and not the in your face woke bs.
If you really believe that's what happened then bless your heart.

Kinda sounds like what plenty of people I know that screamed "I'm DONE with the NFL!" would say now. You know, the people that said this on a Monday and by Sunday of that week you'd stop over their house and they'd all still be watching Dolphins or Jets or Pats or whatever football games (extra hilarious when they were bad teams playing bad football).

Same people that claimed they only watch UFC and college football now because of the cULtUrE wAR nonsense but absolutely have had Super Bowl parties EVERY year and LOVE the Heat.

And I don't say this necessarily as an advocate for the incessant merging of societal issues into sports but just as someone that is saying the NFL and the NBA are just fine because your threats were fake or feckless and not because they had a bunch of secret meetings and somehow got the players to secretly get in line.

Facts!! Half the people crying about ESPN being woke are programmed to say that. It's all about cheering for your side and '****' the other side these days.

Spot on and teams is barely plural as it's only two teams. And too many are too willing to pick a side and guzzle down ALL the Kool Aid.

Imagine if sports was like that. Like we lived in a world where baseball was only the Red Sox-Yankees or football was only Steelers-Ravens or Cowboys-Eagles or whatever and a ton of us just picked one of those sides and immediately fully embraced every extreme of those fanbases like a good little snowflake sheep.

There should be a national initiative to have adult recreational sports leagues in EVERY neighborhood because too many of us obviously have the deep need to feel part of something and look to politics and those two ****** teams as a venue for that boost to self-worth and identity.

If more people had your mindset, this country would be way better off. Hopefully the kids are observing the adults fighting like idiots over stupid **** and decide to take a different approach in the future.

So expecting to be treated as a full citizen is "Victim Mentality"? Demanding that our constitutional rights are protected and respected is "Victim Mentality"? Demanding that the disgraceful policies that we have to grapple with today be discussed openly and corrected is"Victim Mentality" ?

Amazing that us demanding basic human rights ****es you off you much.

The fact that you think people wanting basic human rights is "Woke" is all I need to know. Amazing how people think that it's perfectly fine for a man to be cheered on by thousands on Saturday but be harassed when he goes to vote on Tuesday, merely because the color of his skin. Amazing that the same people that whine about "Woke" culture look the other way as the FLAG OF TREASON is waved in public, but a man demanding that we live up to our ideals is blackballed from his profession.
