ESPN article mentions "UM set to rise, due to schedule"

Dafuq? Is it amateur hour in here? A one-loss, ACC champ is not getting left out of the playoffs.

There are some delusional fools here. They will idiotically point to something in the past that they think somehow has relevance on this season.

Then there will be great wailing and gnashing of teeth when they realize they were wrong.

But but all the fools on here said that an ACC champion could get left out of the cfb playoffs lol
ACC would get left out if....

Clemson loses a game before ACC championship, then loses to a 2 loss ACC coastal champion.

Any 1 loss ACC champion will be in the playoffs...all bettors will be taken!

Still depends on other teams losing and Clemson keeps winning.

ND is in if they win out. The SEC gets their mandatory 2 slots which leaves one....seriously two, for OSU, Oklahoma and the ACC given they all win out.

Miami is going to have to jump one of the above which will never happen if the above does not lose a game....even with a ACC championship.
Not if our only loss is to LSU (1ST GAME OF THE SEASON)!

Won’t happen no matter what else happens? OR won’t happen because teams will lose ... yada, yada, yada…

What do you mean by won’t happen?

Yea, I’m not sure what that means either.

Anything is possible, but in a extremely feasible scenario where you have an undefeated GA or AL, an undefeated OH St., an undefeated Oklahoma, a possibly undefeated ND.. Do you think a one loss Miami makes it? Even an undefeated UCF (as unfortunate as it sounds) could get some looks because of the noise they’ve been making... or even a one loss SEC depending the result of the SEC championship.

This is just an early prediction of what could possibly happen, but to think that it’s impossible for Miami not to make it as a one loss ACC champ (which admittedly will be a feat against Clemson) in any scenario is ridiculous.

I agree with the sentiments where Miami takes care of what’s in their control... But playoffs are not a given even if they do win out, unless they flat out dominate teams from here on out, and teams start dropping ahead of them (obviously).

Miami would have to jump several teams who will have also won their champ game.

This is part people seems to miss. All these teams will be ahead of Miami and Miami is not jumping them even if winning the ACC IF those other teams are also winning their champ game.

You do realize that most of that will take care of itself over the next few weeks? Just exactly how many undefeated teams do you think there will be?

I guess anything is possible, but I'd still take bets on a 1 loss ACC champion getting in.

It's a 'what if' Question. What if Miami were 11-1...could they be left out.

The answer is yes.

We all know if teams lose they will knock themselves out...it goes without saying. But the question is not What if every team loses 10 games and Miami is 11-1...we all know the answer.

The question is what if Miami is 11-1 and other teams do not lose. Then there is a real chance they get left out.

I think being specific about the teams that you're talking about. I haven't seen a scenario yet where enough teams WILL go undefeated and keep a 1 loss ACC champion out of the playoffs

They will look at it like we played a 2 game season the first game and the last game. And we went 1-1. You think they will put that in. By the end of our season it's possible we have no top 25 teams on our schedule.

No one is saying what WILL happen. Of course someone is going to lose along the way but that goes for Miami as well.

We are talking about a situation where an 11-1 Miami COULD be left out.

ND has an easy schedule....COULD go undefeated.
Oklahoma has a tougher but not a hard schedule....COULD go undefeated
OSU COULD go undefeated with the Big 10 not up to par.
One spot left and we have not even got to the SEC yet.
UGA and Bama do not even play...you think they both don't get in after a championship game...?

COULD Happen...

Yes, unlikely to happen, but we are not talking about what WILL happen because no one knows that...no one could ever know that so no one can give you a scenario that WILL happen.

Realistically, based on Miami's schedule, a one loss UGA, BAMA, OSU and Oklahoma COULD all get in over a one loss Miami.

I guess we'll see, and no I do t think the SEC champ loser gets in if BIG 10 and BIG 12 Champs are undefeated, but I promise you that a 1 loss ACC champion will get in over 2 sec teams, if you have OSU and Oklahoma available.

Like I said I'm taking all bettors on it. That's how confident I am...and let's just say I have an extremely good reason to be.
