An airlift for precautionary measures when there's an actual hospital that sits on the edge of campus? That doesn't sound right but let's hope it's true.

because Lois Pope life center is basically the top center of its kind in the us. even if it's just a precaution, you send the kid there.

Hoping that it was truly just "precautionary," but I don't trust UM's word on these things.

Prayers sent.

Player ID/injury still unclear, but several UM people I've chatted with expressed confidence things are OK.

Good point. Gotcha. We kinda need to reserve criticisms in relation to information on things like this because, as we learned after the fact about another player almost dying not too long ago, the school truly is limited legally in what medical information they can disseminate.

Gayot plays like a wild man, so that'd make sense.

Hope the buzz continues to be positive, and that the kid's OK. Love the way he plays. And, less important in this context, but we are painfully thin at linebacker. Here's to a speedy recovery!

They always err on the side of caution when it comes to possible neck/head injuries. Hopefully that's what it is here.

For something like this, even if they're sent to Doctor's (across the street), that hospital would likely effectuate a transfer based on not having the specializations or capabilities to properly stabilize the patient. I don't know the specifics of this case, but a transfer to JHS Trauma would not necessarily be inappropriate.

Upon hearing a collision of two heads, I immediately thought of Golden and D'Onofrio both reaching for the mashed potatoes.

I hate it that it's a player.

Now that we know he is okay, too soon to talk about our ****** LB depth again?

I was hoping Mo Howard came back to life and smashed Folden and Dorito's heads together.

You are sadly correct, rarely precautionary, usually for a reason. The two main criteria we use to authorize are:

1. The time saved using life flight improves the patient's chances of recovery or survival. Also, the expeditious transfer to a specialty
or advanced medical center.

2. Weather or road conditions inhibit use of ground transportation and delay or inhibit the patient's access to advanced levels of care.

Looks serious. Hope it's just precautionary, but airlifting someone is usually a sign of something pretty serious. Prayers.

I know this is completely off topic and could be seen as inappropriate, but can you imagine the fight Ag and Dorito would have over the last scoop of gravy during thanksgiving? Maybe that is what we are missing, instead of providing him a monetary incentive for winning, maybe we need to bribe them with cakes, gravy, sausage etc.

BTW I truly hope who ever the player is...is OK. thoughts and prayers to player, team, and players family
