Early thoughts on Gattis?

We’re not OSU, Bama or UGA yet.

I’m not opposed to a high flying offense, or course it’s fun, I’m a rams fan in the nfl so I see it all the time. I also see the downside as to when it puts your defense in really bad spots alot of the time. There’s a happy medium to be found between the two. I’d like to see a big run game then play action/rollouts.

Btw, I’m 30, never watched a minute of “70’s” football in my life, but I am a coach and I know what wins games, and at the end of the day, that’s all that matters.

but the issue that doesn't win games anymore. the ground and pound wont work bc you can't ground and pound your way to a title. defenses will give up points no matter how dominant it is and youre gonna have to score. were too slow (insanely slow) in pace and we dont have any explosion so far. were not gonna win this way against better more athletic teams esp w the holes we have on d right now. we played southern ******* miss so its easy to say w a huge talent advantage that this wins. ground and pound used to win in the 80s not anymore. if it did, saban wouldn't have scrapped his entire offensive philosophy. this style of O will have us in many close games this year that may not work out for us esp without an elite d

I absolutely agree that the pace is too slow, it needs to be sped up some for sure. Running the ball and establishing the ground game is important. It has to stay a threat to keep the defense honest and to keep mismatches on the field (I.E a LB instead of a dime back) as I said there’s a happy medium to be found.

I absolutely agree that the pace is too slow, it needs to be sped up some for sure. Running the ball and establishing the ground game is important. yeah im not saying dont ever run. I think were a better run concept team w gattis than under lashlee. I dont think were nearly the same passing team currently and its not suited to our players strengths. I also dont think we run well enough to offset it either. I do agree that it is early but gattis history, Marios history, and what we've seen doesn't make me hopeful. I dont think we have a magical play sheet ready to go firing for next week lol. we struggled pretty bad with a really bad team. what makes you think well suddenly go airborne against a much more talented team on the road? I dont buy it. I think there are some plays that we obviously haven't used and formations, but I largely think this is the offense. its going to be slow and that will scare off recruits. I just hope Mario has a come to Jesus moment like saban did

here come the defenders to tell you ground nd pound is how you win the game when 3 years ago we literally hated the OC that ran an archaic anemic offense and killed another former HC for running an archaic offense. its okay to call it like it is based on what we see right now

UGA had one of the best defenses in the history of CFB to finally win a title and they still lost a game giving up 40+. Alabama won a title putting points all over the place and won an SEC title game in a shoot out. LSU won a title w one of the best offenses in history. you can win w an explosive offense. im not even saying abandon the run. you have to run the ball but this **** we see from our passing game is below average and it leads into what was the biggest criticism from recruits about gattis

If your an nfl scout an have a first round pick who would u take on offense? Your job depends on it your family depends on it.......it’s tough to point out one guy and say this guy is a difference maker. We have no elite wrs our OL was recruited poorly when manny was here. It will take time this is a rebuild and proof of that was all these transfers and even with that our roster is not there, it just isn’t. I think gattis showed at UM his O can work when he got the speedsters to run it. I prefer it more opened up but I understand what Mario is trying to do and he needs time.

Ours is 2 games old... It's not purgatory...Ups and downs are par for the course... everything is new right now.... Players are still learning everything ...

Harbaugh hired a CO-OC and got more involved this past year. it wasn't all gattis with the offense. gattis was heavily criticized before this past year

Nearly 500 yds of offense while TVD was having his worst game of his career. I really think they’ve been trying to keep things vanilla until A&M. I expect Brashard to be a big part of this offense moving forward.

Don’t use logic here. CIS thinks if you’re not running spread and tempo you’re not a good offense.
