VTColorado. Maybe Virginia
VTColorado. Maybe Virginia
It's a conference game this yearWake is not a conference game as stupid as that is. They have a yearly series with them unless they are the Atlantic crossover.
7-7 on 3rd down against BC (31 total first downs)
9-17 on 3rd down against Southern Miss (24 total first downs)
5-14 on 3rd down against Texas A&M (27 total first downs)
7-20 on 3rd down against MTSU, but 5-8 on 4th down (26 total first downs)
That has to be some record for the highest amount of first downs, but least amount points scored relative to the first downs. Yes, we did score 73 points against BC, but only 70 total for the next 3 games (and 7 of those was on a KO return against MTSU). I feel we should be scoring a lot more points based on our first down production. I'm not saying "fire Gattis", but he has to become more creative in the Green/Red zone. This can't keep happening where the offense works its *** off to maintain drives and comes away with nothing.
Free money right there.![]()
UNC +4 ML +135
Haven’t watched ND at all this year.Norte Dame beat NC by 2 TDs, 45-32. That’s a bad NC defense.
Haven’t watched ND at all this year.
How bad is ND offense? Is it anywhere near as bad as ours?
I know NC defense is garbage but I have a hard time believing we can put up 45 on anyone with exception of Bethune Cookman.
I’m looking for any glimmer of hope we can win this game but I don’t see it. Shocked the Canes are favored, hope Vegas is right this time.
Thanks for the info.ND offense was beyond pitiful before playing UNC.
250 yards vs OSU (10 points, loss)
351 yards vs Marshall (21 points, loss)
297 yards vs Cal (7 point win)
Then rolled UNC for 287 rushing and 289 passing.
UNC is 123rd out of 130 teams in rushing yards per game allowed (227 per game)
109th in yards per carry allowed
128th in the country in rushes per game faced. Meaning teams just run and run and run and they can't stop it.
They only gave up 56 yards rushing vs FAMU, and last weekend they limited VT (who is maybe the worst P5 offense in the country) to 99 yards rushing.
The other 3 games:
288 allowed vs App State
235 allowed vs Ga State
287 allowed vs Notre Dame
Should be able to have at least some success on the ground, which hopefully frees TVD up some to make some plays down the field.
Bad week for all the RBs to be out with injuries, then.Should be able to have at least some success on the ground, which hopefully frees TVD up some to make some plays down the field.
ND’s QB shouldn’t be starting at any D1 school, let alone ND and he shredded them. That’s all you need to know.Haven’t watched ND at all this year.

I think we win this week. I have a funny feeling. Could be the weed though.
That is the problem ... their offense works (19 passing TD's so far +11 rushing for 30 total) and UM's has not (4 passing TD's so far and 11 rushing for 15 total). They have a hot QB 70% completions, and EFFECTIVELY use 3 TE's and a solid group of WR's ... plus their QB is averaging 5 yards per carry on his rush attempts. You know Maye will go deep against #8 ANY time he is in single coverage. They don't need a highly ranked D against the weak O that UM has fielded so far. Really want UM to win this one and I will be shocked if they do.He may be the best pure athlete out of all the Maye brothers. This dude can really spin the ball w/ accuracy. It’s still early, but I like what this kid brings.
Our saving grace is UNC’s def is putrid & running game is not “as good” as previous yrs.
UNC Def is 120th:
-112th against the run
-113th in scoring allowed
-102nd against the pass
UNC’s Run Game is ranked 38th (was ranked 18th last season & 11th in ‘20)
So schematically, in this area we should be good, since we’re 38th in scoring (and yes, I know the BCU game have skewed that rank), we have the 47th ranked rushing offense, & 11th rush def. Those r the positives.
My concern? UNC is 6th in Offense, & 12th in passing. Our pass def?? BBW Booty Cheeks at 94th, while our scoring def is 33rd.
Just a FYI on James Madison, since that’s been a point of emphasis in our loss to MTSU:
Did u know JMU have the #1 def & #29 offense? They are also the #8 scoring offense in the nation. They are 33-5 in since 2019 & 42-9 since 2018. They just made the jump to FBS this yr & r already 4-0. **** good football program. North Dakota State need to make that move, too. Doesn’t excuse the MTSU game, but we can remove that narrative from the equation.

Al Golden today and when he was here is alot different lol him and freeman’s gameplan vs osu was great.Al Golden forced them into three 3 and outs and a 5 and out in the first half alone. No reason we can't do the same, or Jesus even something similar.
They took the opening drive 75 yards for a TD against ND. ND got the ball, and promptly went 3 and out. Uh-oh. Here we go.
Score at the half: ND 24, UNC 14.
Next 3 drives after the opening drive TD for UNC:
3 plays, -10 yards
5 plays, 13 yards
3 plays, 8 yards
All punts. An Al Golden defense.
Not the Al Golden defense that he ran at UM and ND does not have #8 playing man coverage.Al Golden forced them into three 3 and outs and a 5 and out in the first half alone. No reason we can't do the same, or Jesus even something similar.
