Draft analysts raving about Canes at East/West Shrine Game

Canes players have been widely praised on the draft sites I frequent, including the ones mentioned in this thread. Surprisingly, the guy generating the most debate in either direction is Flowers. Lots of the guys who specialize in draft analysis are miffed that the professional scouts and teams apparently have him rated much higher than they do. I see many lists with Flowers not in the Top 10 among their tackles. That seems nuts. But when called out on it they heatedly try to justify it. In particular I'm referring to the draft forum at footballsfuture.com, which is highly trafficked and some very sharp posters.

With Flowers the consensus is they love his upper body strength and punch, but hate his lower body technique and expanding gut. Everybody seems to think he was criminally misplaced at left tackle compared to rightful position at right tackle, and that our play calling tilted more to Flowers' weaknesses than his strengths.

A good scout or front office is going to see him for what he is: a decent LT prospect and an outstanding RT prospect.

BOT is not doing their duty to protect the students here. Anthony Chickillo's professional career may be affected by employing such an unqualified piece of **** coach.

His draft stock just sky rocketed after that performance. For those who could not see the game, trust me. Chick looked good!!!

Chick looks amazing. Golden and DNO are pieces of crap. They are waisting our talent. We should have won the ACC THIS YEAR!!! look at all the talent they wasted with their bull**** scheme.

Think players not plays!!!!

i see what you did there. because golden is fat

I think the opposite.

Of the OT guys I've seen he's the most athletic, he just has ****** technique.

Oline coaches will be salivating over him. He's the highest ceiling LT on the board for me.

Flowers stock is soaring amongst the guys that count the most: NFL scouts and executives. The kid played the entire past season with a torn meniscus until it finally gave out on him and hasn't given up a sack in two years.

He's athletic going forward, but he's a tick slow in his kick. I think he's a multiple-time Pro Bowler at RT. Then again, I've been extremely high on him since jump.

Way to tailor your scheme to your players; Al.

Way to adapt and get the best out of your players; Al.

On this 6-7 team, you have:

1st round OL
2nd round LB
3rd round RB
3rd round DL
4th round OL

And multiple 5-UDFA's

My guess is this team has at least 6-8 NFL'ers on it.

The results are....I have no word for it.

Yep...Golden is a huge piece of **** who ruined so many kids lives.

He couldn't get laid in a whorehouse with 5000 in fresh bills.

It's crazy how all our kids are shining in this post season. I'm especially happy for Ryan Williams!! This should have been his team. Kayaa did his thing, but his lack of footspeed made our offense dreadful at times. Chickollo made some money today!!

Good news guys, we're doing the same exact thing next year. So things are definitely gonna trend up.

1st Flowers
2nd Perryman
2nd Duke
3rd Dorsett
4th Gunter
4th Chick
4th Walford
5th Feliciano
6th McDermott
7th Pierre

The next regime will probably turn this thing around in 2 years with the talent we have on this roster

Unless Williams coming off a knee injury used that surgery to become Mariotta I'm not sure his footspeed was going to make much of a difference.

I got ripped for saying his career was f'd more than any player I've ever seen. Kid was a beast at 4-3 end. Staff took a pass rush specialist, fattened him up to a 3-4 five tech.

Funny how many fans here were bashing the kid ,was playing a position he had no buisness playing .

I am trying my best to be a good little cane fan until mid February, but Golden sure does make it hard. Sigh.
