DP is a beast

In the last three drafts (2014, 2013, 2012) a grand total of two linebackers 6'0 and under have been drafted.

Anyone who thinks Perryman is "definitely" getting drafted is beyond misinformed about the NFL and the NFL Draft.

24 out of 25 6'0 and under linebackers remained undrafted as of pick 112.

Dude has an absolutely massive uphill battle to get drafted. This is fact.

Well you're just a fkn expert aren't you? How many of these "undersized" linebackers that you speak of played at the level that DP does?

DP is definitely get drafted. Let's see how much you're ready to talk about your expert opinion this time next year. "Massive uphill battle..." GTFOH. You being so sure of yourself makes you sound absolutely stupid. clearly you have no idea what you're talking about.

Clearly have no idea what I'm talking about yet out of the last 628 draft picks 2 have been LBs 6'0 and under. 0.32% of the picks in the last 3 years. Okie dokie.

He's a lock. Clearly.

"Massive uphill battle" is his opinion. Not a fact. I highly doubt it will be a massive uphill battle.

Here's a few NFL facts. Of the top 100 NFL players for 2013 (voted by their peers), 4 are 6 ft or under LB's. London Fletcher(86) is actually 5'10", Lance Briggs (83), Stephen Tulloch (63) and NaVorro Bowman (37). Out of the top 100 there are a total of 9 true LB's, so about 45% are 6ft or under.

But you're right. 6ft LB's don't have any business in the NFL anymore.

I understand what you're getting at, but Perryman has already been ranked as the #1 ILB by sites for next years draft despite his size limitations.

It would take a pretty big fall from grace for him to go from that to undrafted.

If 6'0 and under LBs have business being in the NFL then why has every single team but two passed on them over 600 times in the last 3 drafts? Could it be the game is evolving? Nah, that can't be it.

It could be evolving sure. But how many of those who were passed up were ranked #1 in their respective position? Of course Denzel will have to prove himself this final season and in the combines, but to say he (ranked #1 ILB) has a massive uphill battle is ridiculous. And clearly 6ft LB's can still play and play well in this evolving league.

Im sorry but if you honestly think that DP isn't going to get drafted, you are the one who doesn't know anything about the NFL draft. And I love how you bring in the stat that theyve been passed up 600 times acting as if every single team needed a linebacker and that each team made the valid decision to pass on them every single one of those picks.

You also have the stat that only 2 linebackers under 6' have been drafted the last three drafts but that has more to do with there just being less players that are that short as opposed to guys being passed up. Look at all the linebackers who were under 6' and were "passed up" as you are saying, and please tell me if you honestly think any of them have the talent that DP has. Over the last few years one of the best linebackers under 6' was Chris Borland from this years draft who someone pointed out earlier. He got drafted in the 3rd round, and although he is a great player, DP is much more athletic and has much more upside than him.

And also, lets not forget that the draft advisory board gave DP a third round grade this past year. But youre right, they were probably lying to him and he most likely wont get drafted at all

Dude says Denzel Perryman could be Earl Thomas, and then negs other people for not having a clue.

Let that digest for a second.

Yes, DP is short, but there's always exceptions. If a kid is his height he is usually moved to safety by now, which is why most LB's are taller. If Sean Spence gets drafted by the Steelers, a team that made LB's what they are today, well then Perryman will have no trouble. Especially when he has a strong senior season. Only thing that can hold him back is if he gets injured again.

It is pure comedy to read threads on this board. You guys are the best. Even if we don't always agree on all topics.

Hate to keep beating a dead horse but...

With in the first 4 rounds and total of 4 LB's 6'0" or under (2 under 6ft) have been drafted. Not sure where this guy gets his stats from.

80 LBs taken in the last 3 years, two 6'0 and under. A rock solid 2.5%, but yeah he's a lock.

And lol at using draft grades and projections a year before a player is in the draft. Those never, ever change.

See the above post...I don't know why you are so adamant about sticking with your BS assumption.

4 LB's drafted in the 1st 4 rounds of this draft are 6ft or shorter. A total of 25 were drafted...so 4 of 25 doesn't sound like much, but there are only 5 left who are 6ft or under. There are over 20 prospects left that are 6'1" or taller.
