Wiki… Brees too was “overrated” 😂
Ten members of the team were honored as All-Big Ten Conference selections, quarterback Drew Brees was named the Big Ten Offensive of the Year and the Chicago Tribune Silver Football, while safety Stuart Schweigert was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Nineteen members of the 2000 Boilermakers football team went on to play in the NFL. Prior to 2000, the Boilermakers had compiled three consecutive winning seasons and had not won a Big Ten Championship since the 1967 Purdue team.
The 2000 team, which boasted two future Super Bowl winners, was featured in the 2013 Big Ten Networkdocumentary series Big Ten Elite[1] and is still widely regarded by Purdue fans as one of the greatest Boilermakers football teams of all time.[2] The Boilermakers have yet to win the Big Ten championship or reach the Rose Bowl since then.
Thank You

Of cour
Bama is a one trick pony they have the best evaluator and the best closer, i think things will balance out a bit when he retires.
Of course they will. Because unless they bring in a head man who commands the room the way satan does the staff will fall off.

Matt Ryan was first qb I thought of. Hes much better than dorsey
Why are yall so quick to label someone thats good as great? Really curious what made matt ryan way better than kenny dorsey as a college qb? Not an nfl qb but a college qb. Cause it sure the **** wasnt his stats, his teams success or anything else. He had one pretty good year that **** near a quarter of his stats for the season came from us having a dc with a **** in his own ***... So quick to **** on our kids to boost up everyone else. Dorsey was an amazing college qb FOR THIS SYSTEM. NO DIFFERENT FROM VICK,LAMAR, BURROW,FIELDS OR PLENTY OF OTHERS... Before yall run off at the mouth go look at stats since memories dont seem to cut it.

Stats. Ryan didn’t have anything around him that would even make the 2 deep at miami while Dorsey was qb. Once in the nfl he did, Dorsey couldn’t when matched with equally talented teams in nfl

The conversation was about college qbs not nfl ones. His college stats werent anywhere near as good as dorseys... You feel free to change up the narrative but facts are facts. While yall talk **** about kenny he was a two time Heisman finalist and the man lost 2 ged his entire time here. Not sure how yall knock that.

I wouldn't ever bet against Ken in any capacity. He's never been the most gifted athletically or even the smartest. What he is though is a tireless worker that will out work everyone around him. He's smart, he's gifted, but that work ethic and doing what needs to be done is second to none.

Ok so that’s why he was drafted in 7th round? Cause he’s such a good college qb? any average talented d 1 qb would have had great stats as well If they started when Dorsey was here

Are you just ****** with me at this point? Im praying to god yet another canes fan couldnt be such a dumb clueless nuckin fut... What in jesus name are you even attempting to say. Im assuming you're probably pretty young so i get it, but sometimes you gotta take a step back and try to grasp that reading and comprehension are pivotal aspects to the development of a young mind... AGAIN we arent talking about how his game transitioned to the nfl OR how scouts viewed him. We are talking about nothing but his ability to run a pro set offense HERE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI & whether or not he excelled at it... Thats it. Nothing else. It has zero to do with what was around him or any other factors. Just if he did what he was supposed to on this team. By the way kenny kelly who was physically far more talented than dorsey & derrick crudup, & brock berlin all had alot of these same pieces that dorsey had and none of them had even a fraction of his success. So cut the bull**** and go find some other qb to **** on. Yall are clueless in the things yall as fans say yet still find a way to take a hard stance on ignorance... Feel free to compare dorseys stats against any of the qbs yall mention on here. Just dont say no more dumb **** about matty ice thanks...

Being a fan doesn’t mean you suck off every good player. Dorsey almost cost us a few games but all the insane talent around him picked up his average ability. Stats can be misleading which is why he was drafted in 7th.

Not that I have to remind you... but Dorsey DID win the Maxwell award which is "presented to the best player in college football."

Actually he was drafted in the seventh because his frame, his lack of mobility and his arm talent nfl gms worried about for very good reason. So if his nfl career wouldve been like matt ryans then i guess youd have nothing to say? **** it ill change the narrative with you since you cant stick to one argument. Lets say Tom Brady how was he as a college qb? Or lets look at the other side of the coin and say Ryan leaf or jim druckenmiller or buddy from lsu the raiders drafted? You wanna change it again? Alright one more time. How bout eric crouch, troy smith anyone else?

While I agree that you need good coaching to win championships. I believe if you recruit the best of the best you can still win championships if the players you recruited are hungry to be the best. The 01 team is the perfect example. We did not win that with excellent coaches. Me and you and a gang of chimps could have coached them to a championship. It’s like Jimmy Johnson said “it’s not about the X’s and O’s it’s about the Jimmy and Joes”. It’s not a coincidence that the teams with the best overall recruiting rankings are in line to win a championship year after year. **** Alabama has a new coaching staff almost **** near every year yet they are always in the hunt. You know what doesn’t change with Alabama in those years? Top 5 recruiting rankings year in and year out and probably top 3 with number 1 over half the years.
That 2001 team **** near lost a couple games due to bad coaching. The reason they were such a well oiled machine, at times, was because of the coaching they got the years leading up to 2001. Now, Butch Davis wasn't some game day guru, but he was the best coach we've had in years at getting players to work their butts off to be the best they could be. The whole reason they worked so hard was because they didn't want to let him down and get in his doghouse. So yes, the 2001 team was greatly influenced by a quality head coach.

Yes, some of us could have coached that team to a title, perhaps. However, if you give us the Miami Hurricanes of 1995 to coach them for 6 years, there's no way in **** we win a title. A coach built that team by identifying talent, and maximizing that talent. Davis didn't just get the best players. He identified great players that other schools didn't. He then pushed them to their limits. That is why Coker could win in 2001. That is why many coaches could have won with the 2001 team.
