DONT KILL THE MESSENGER

They know they have Butch as a fall back guy so they will explore a bit.

Butch may end up at Virginia Tech.

Wouldn't that be fun?

Butch is great at doing his thing. But there's a limit to what he can do at a school that isn't surrounded by elite talent.

Miami still has the most pros in the NFL, and we've had a bunch of morons running things. At some point, I think people have to understand that he isn't some infallible coaching master. He's the greatest talent developer in CFB history, but you can't develop turds.

I seem to recall VT waxing our elite talent school more than once.

And then, if he gets in at VT, he'll start doing his shopping down here. That's what he does. Finds and gets the talent. VT isn't UNC.

Jackson is actually a very good coach. He actually knows what he's doing unlinke of current coaches. He actually knows how to design a scheme and run it. He's been successful in the league as an OC and currently has the #1 offense in the NFL despite having a average QB in Dalton. Hue would make Kaaya the #1 pick. Jackson has been a HC before and went a surprisingly 8-8 with a roster lacking big time talent. That shows he can do more with less unlike current staff. Jackson would be a very good hire but I don't see it happening.

This guy has an awesome resume. Would be a big time hire, IMO. I'm on board if this is who they decide to go with

Maybe that's true but the sample size is not big enough to say that.

This university is run by retards. lol at the buyout talk already getting floated out there.

Guaranteed to **** this coaching search again if by some miracle they actually sack up and Fire Golden

8-8 with the Raiders in his only NFL season as HC. They went 17-27 in the 3 years before and 8-28 in the 3 years after.

You guys keep talking about recruiting but fail to realize those are the 2 things Golden and Shannon did well, recruits don't win games. A good coach with 5 stars wins 9 games a year, a bad coach with 5 stars wins 6 games. A great coach with 3 stars still wins the costal. Any coach who beats the Ravens and Steelers year in and year out is good with me, is offense fits Miami so well. When's the last time Miami utilized the FB? Quatrine Hill? If Hue was our HC he would never run the ball outta shotgun like that **** Coley. Heck if Hue was our OC right now we're 4-0 despite of Golden and $hitty D. But at this point I'm all in on anyone who didn't go to Penn State.

before we start seeing the "gruden to miami, players notified threads", can we create a sticky with the name of each poster who says they have an insider, the name of the coach to be hired and the date of the post? that way we can keep track of the rumors and see who is credible?

for example,

wherrera8 - Hue Jackson - Oct 5 2015

this **** gets real tiring real fast and we have not even played 5 games. de pynga.

Wait, so when was Butch a candidate at VT? He's not on every schools list. He fits our situation perfectly as well as a few smaller schools but he hasn't been a top choice for years. I can see the Maryland gig although thats just fan talk at this point. Of course this is the same board that was worried about Texas scooping him up.

Here's the thing about Butch. He's not an attractive package to most of the college football world. But for a school that's also disregarded and not taken seriously (I mean we don't even have a stadium or fanbase) he's a freaking supermodel. We need Butch and Butch needs us.

I don't think Golden recruited all that well.

And there's not enough room in the cloud to list all the top 305 talent Golden missed.

Or, got left abandoned after recruits decommitted.

I have no inside info but you can put me down as guaranteeing our hire will be someone terrible. The process will be really long, overly convoluted, there will be almost no information broken to the public, and we will be underwhelmed.

You got to be ****** kidding me hue jackson????

.

I doubt this info is legit but if it is and Hue Jackson is indeed a candidate, let alone the leading candidate, then I quit.

If so, the admin has no interest in winning. I will not spend $ again (I'm not now while Golden is here).

It's legit. I know for absolute fact that Hue was in contact with UM when the firing rumors started .

He contacted them.
For a FACT. ****, is he that unhappy in Cinci or eager for UM? I thought people said no one wants this job.....

One season is not enough of a sample size. Maybe he was the reason they were 8-8 maybe they had a lucky season.
Sporanos first season with the Dolphins was great the larger sample size proved it was just a lucky season and nothing to do with him.

I dont want a pro coach. I want someone who understands the college game because its much different than the NFL. It needs to be simple and you have so many mismatches you need to coach to the mismatch. Its why Kelly is good in college but not in the pros. They also need to know what its going to take to recruit which like it or not is huge aspect of the college game.
You mean like Harbaugh at Michigan
If you are a good coach you are a good coach. No D and Folden suck and they been in College for years.

Haven't we gone the coordinator route already? It didn't work on the last two guys. Can we get someone with head coaching experience and might actually have beaten a top 25 team. Not some snake oil salesman using smoke and mirrors.

If memory serves, Butch had no head coaching experience when he was hired here. Just sayin.

I they thought Dan Mullen was arrogant, wait'll they get a load of Hubert. Oowee.

I'm all for arrogant, but the dude does not look arrogant. If he lets his players play with that chip on their shoulder and doesn't muszzle them, I think we will solve a few problems with that change alone.

UM grad?

I thought we were on the same team? Sometimes I type too fast on my phone.

It would be a coup by Miami admins if they were able to get Jackson.

Dude is gonna be the hottest commodity this off-season along with Kyle Shannahan
