DONT KILL THE MESSENGER

It's going to be hilarious when UM has tunnel vision on Hue Jackson, expresses willingness to wait until mid-January at the absolute earliest to hire him since Wild Card weekend starts January 10, then watches him interview for NFL vacancies and take a job elsewhere.

Herman will be long gone at that point. So will any other viable candidate at the college level. We'll go from being the program with the most desirable coaching vacancy in college to the school that's the last to hire one, leaving us with scrap heap options to choose from.

This is going to be laughable.

SMH ...

Some of y'all are really ****ting on a guy who may be the hottest candidate for every NFL opening this off-season?

Lol

I'm on record as thinking Hue will take the Dolphins job. But if he wanted the Hurricanes' job, we should give it to him.

Are some of y'all really questioning if he could run a college program? Questioning if he knows how to hire a staff?

So, y'all think an NFL team would just let him "wing it"? Lol

Joe philbin coached an NFL team. By your logic he would kill it here.

By your logic Pete Carroll would've been an awful hire, beens he failed first two jobs in the nfl

Guys making too many sweeping generalizations. Folden went 9-3 once at Temple. So now anyone who wins at a lower level program is Folden.

Yep, Fuentes is Golden lol. Even though Fuentes resume kills Al's

Haven't we gone the coordinator route already? It didn't work on the last two guys. Can we get someone with head coaching experience and might actually have beaten a top 25 team. Not some snake oil salesman using smoke and mirrors.

If we make a run at Hue, why wouldn't we go after chip Kelly after he gets cut loose in Philadelphia, or Jay Gruden after he gets cut in Washington ( Hues offense is based after Jays)
IF those are legitimate candidates...which I doubt but would be ok with

I heard today from a reliable person in the know that they wanted to make the move this weekend but once again, the buyout is a huge obstacle. It probably won't happen till the end of the season.

They also told me the top candidate is... Hue Jackson. Offensive Coordinator of the Bengals.

I'm honestly not sure what to make of it, if that is in fact the move.

(Didn't mean to neg)

Since this guy has never been a Head Coach, and UM is dumber than a bad haircut - makes perfect sense.

How can such dumba$$es manage to run a University?

The risible incompetence of this Board is fate.

Which leaves us with who the Canes will end up with when the cupboard is bare because we waited too long to pull the trigger on Al:

Joe Philbin, of course!

Who is better? An NFL team or a college team? Hue has 8 wins in one season with the ***ing Raiders.

College coordinators and NFL coordinators are not the same thing.

Lol at people saying "do not want" don't worry you ****gots you won't get him as the coach he's going to take an NFL job look at the bengals offense this year. But some of you are way over your head if you really saying "no thanks" on a coach like this

Exactly..did you ****gots forget who our coaching finalists were 5 years ago? Randy Edsall, Al GOlden, and Cristobal.... LOL what makes you think its going to get any better? you should be on your knees praying for this guy

If we're talking NFL pedigrees, I'd consider it a prayer answered at this point if Wayne Fontes or Joe Bugel showed up in Coral Gables. Paging Bruce Coslett...

You are playing the result. Pete Carroll was a very questionable hire for USC at the time.

Going after Chip would make all the sense in the world.

As for Jay Gruden vs. Hue Jackson, they're both known for throwing their players under the bus in spectacular fashion, so they'll fit right in here.

They know they have Butch as a fall back guy so they will explore a bit.

Butch may end up at Virginia Tech.

Wouldn't that be fun?

Butch is great at doing his thing. But there's a limit to what he can do at a school that isn't surrounded by elite talent.

Miami still has the most pros in the NFL, and we've had a bunch of morons running things. At some point, I think people have to understand that he isn't some infallible coaching master. He's the greatest talent developer in CFB history, but you can't develop turds.

1st thing is first! Got to get Al as far away from the program as possible
