Butch is my top guy but we can't even promise that with him. Just because it happened once doesn't promise a repeat. There's no sure things so if it's not Butch a guy with the #1 offense in the league and head coaching experience at an NFL level isn't a bad pick. But still...Butch

I will say this: the kids have only heard about Butch from the 30 For 30 and maybe their coaches.

But the parents know all about Butch. That's what will get the top kids to the Gables. They know what he did back in the day and they know he can coach up. They know Ray Lewis. They know Ed Reed.

I think anyone understands that means the best available coach. Instead of worrying about recruits and their families. No one knew JJ or Dennis. No one in florida knew Urban. I mean how many times do we need to explain to u people what actually works.

So, if 1) the BOT wants Goldofrio gone but wants to wait until after the season to fire them officially in order to save some $, and 2) they have to wait for the end of the season anyway to hire Jackson, why can't they just tell Al and his dummy sidekick to GTFOH now--i.e. tell them they aren't officially "fired" but they no longer need to show up for work. Put Coley or Kehoe in charge for the rest of the season while the BOT works out its deal with Jackson and/or interviews others.

Why do they need to let the dead men walking continue to soften the program?

As for Jackson, I can't say I know much about him other than the idea of hiring him doesn't make me want to vomit.
 
Hue has great personality and a good offensive mind but I don't see the connection

I call B.S. with this bit of news. Canes will hire a "named commodity" because quite frankly that is what's needed after 12 years of mediocre play and record...

I proposed something very similar last year. Name Butch HC in-waiting, and have him take over recruiting right now. Tell Fraulden he's done as soon as the next lower buyout increment date is reached.

I don't know if they want to hire Hue ,I'm just saying that he reached out to UM when the firing rumors started.

I just had Wherea's back, there was contact last Dec/Jan. So his info comes off as legitimate.

As for the administration , when have they ever done anything that made sense?

FWIW if we are going the up and comer route, which I am not a fan of, it needs to be Herman at Houston.
 
If the U was going to throw out rumors they would ring up Barry Jackson. He throws out a lot of crap on his blog

No doubt these rumors were true last year at all, they just don't pop up after
1) 23 points in 8 minutes
2) beat down from UC
3) call for action from the AD or BOT
4) upcoming game Vs a rival who has beat said coach 4 years in a row.
Point being, any news to calm the masses to stall out what everyone knows has to happen
