Does UM has a S&C problem?

Honest questions... I don't see our athletes as physically developed as other programs, not as explosive. I see our players don't get injured as often which is positive

Do we have a problem at S&C?

Is it the athletes the other programs are recruiting?

Are other programs using "substances" we are not utilizing?

no we have an elite athlete problem. We don’t have enough of them. Look what Feeley did with Phillips. Get more Phillips and Feeley looks even better.

Ohio state has freaks on defense. Idk if it was Rofflers who pointed out that they have the most 90th and above percentile athletes.
I think all their db’s run 4.5 or better out of high school while we want rumph to turn Dunson that ran a 4.9 into a day one pick.
I know it’s not all about speed but it sure does help. And it also helps a lot more at the combine.

These 2 games it’s even more obvious the speed discrepancy we have at different positions all over the field.

S/C is not a issue you can’t force players to lift in the off season. That’s the teal issue.
if you have to force that, then your problem is more fundamental. players who don’t use the off-season to improve, replace them, transfer out, pull ship. if we can’t create competition or culture then look in the mirror.

We definitely do. The blame falls squarely on Joe Echevarria, who runs UHealth. Because... "the administration."

Really funny y'all are talking about S&C when anyone who's ever attempted to lift a weight in their life knows physique is at least 80% nutrition. AT LEAST.

Feeley isn't in charge of what every player on the team eats for every meal.

Recruiting the freaks with the best genetics is an area we can obviously improve to minimize the projects Feeley has to work with but the difference between our S & C vs Bama is the sheer volume of A1 athletes they have compared to us plus the unlimited resources they have at their disposal for anabolic steroids, hgh, etc.

The training table explanation wasn’t heard a lot around UM when our kids were getting drafted in the first round.

A good indicator of a solid SC program is soft tissue injures.

And we haven’t had many. The past two years we’ve done well in that department. Need to recruit better

Donaldson always been big. Dude came on campus as a freshmen at like 380. Don’t know why y’all act so shocked by his weight now.

Because he went through a college weight program and never felt the urgency, fear or accountability to change it. What kind of S&C culture do you have when 400 pound doughboys are starting anyway.

And one thing Richt accomplished was improved training table facilities. On staff nutrition team, etc. IIRC.
it’s a culture issue. how many times does that have to be said?

the culture went to isht under coker and every coach since has expressed shock at the prior guys culture, promised to change it, then failed and got fired.
