SIXTEEN YEARS go by and Miami let's this man get his degree and he trashes the school because his boy didn't get recruited...

then has the audacity to come on here talking about oh it's sooooo hard being a recruit you have no idea how hard it is to take free trips and have people pamper you and tell you how amazing you are every day.

this **** is so corny i'm GLAD this quincy character isn't coming here since he's a "product of his environment" and all.

Why do coaches in So. Fla. bash Miami for not have a meeting with players they obviously do not want, but praise Jimbo who just dropped a local WR commit because they were offering too many people?

Why haven't local coaches bashed them? Miami would have been crucified!

no you don't. you could raise your kid to not be an entitled little **** that cries on the internet when he doesn't get his way. the more you coddle him, the more entitled he's going to get. he could have vented frustrations without trashing our school and calling us a garbage and joke program, but you let him get away with it so he continued to do it.

Exactly. It's called the high road. You raise your kids to take it.

Other than Christ himself, give me the name of someone who has taken this so call high road under these circumstances. I even heard Tony Dungy defending himself on the radio about attacks on his interview of Jonathan Martin. TONY DUNGY!!! You have to be realistic.

name one person within the miami football program that attacked your son. i'll wait.

never said anyone in the miami football program attacked him. NEVER SAID THAT! Never had a conversation with them remember. The attacks came from the "fans".

Under what circumstances? Recruiting? Not being offered by your dream school? I don't know but I imagine hundreds of kids don't get offered by their dream school every year and don't take to twitter bashing said school. That said, your response is a cop out. Whether the kid absorbs the message or not, you teach and continue to teach right from wrong.

This thread is pathetic and has confirmed to me the staff made the right decision not pursuing Quincy. He might be a great athlete and kid but the drama that comes with him definitely wasn't worth it. We'll never know the real truth as the staff isn't going to say anything in regards to this. And I'm not saying Chad is lying; however, he is obviously biased as he should be as a father. Now his responses are comical. "I used to lie" get out of here with the BS. You obviously have manipulated the recruiting process by your obvious disdain for this staff and in turn UM.

Pretty much. Like I said earlier, thanks Chad for coming on and sharing your view.

However, I've seen what I needed to see.

Sincerely wish you and Quincy the best, regardless of what may or may not have happened in his recruiting. I think both parties will be OK with how it turned out in a year or two.

I agree about this being a problem. The school, staff etc cannot come out and defend themselves in a situation like this. As Chad and Quincy are protected by privacy laws. They can say whatever they want and the staff cannot defend themselves.

As a parent you do not deserve a phone call from the staff if they so choose to not recruit your kid. The recruiting business is so cut throat that there is not enough time to do that with every prospect. So your feeling being hurt need to be tamed by you in house. Not on Twitter. If I have a problem it is my job as an adult to talk to the person I have an issue with. Not talk about them from behind a keyboard. So even if they contact you, what did you want them to say? What could they have said to you that would have been ok? Nothing. You feel like your kid is UM caliber and they did not offer. This is the problem with the popular local kids, they are entitled. If you bring them in and they are not happy they will ruin your image publicly and that is obviously not worth it to the staff. Hence, your kid not getting an offer. Good luck with your team and your future. However on behalf on the posters here I would recommend you just leave. Your fighting an unfair fight and your just going to lose respect here. And you are just going to get called names etc. Which I am sure is not worth your time either.

If you have been paying attention, you would realize that I said. I had no problem as a father. UM doesn't like you as a prospect. 69 other division I schools felt the same way as they did not offer you. 50 division I schools did offer him.

My problem was as an alumni, I would think it would be wise to have a conversation with me a person who has direct access to a highly ranked prospect. **** man, I put in my blood, sweat and tears on Greentree practice field and my name is in those hallways.. At least give me that much.

i there's letting your kid express himself, and then I think 17 year olds sometimes need guidance and to be taught by their parents when to say things and what to say. sometimes you have to bite your tongue and just let it go. he was obviously extremely hurt by UM's lack of communication with you guys. you absolutely should not have let him air it on social media, whether you are an alum or not.

Exactly. As a father and mentor to my child, I would make sure to show him how to handle it like a rational adult. If my child got into posting some of the nonsense Quincy was posting, and the way he was posting it, rather than supporting and encouraging him I'd make it clear that it is unacceptable, childish behavior.

That was one of two comments he ever made that I regret. That and the one he made about Driskell. He made those out of frustration and it turned into a teaching moment for me and a learning moment for him. Again, he's a teen.

So far as the Central game is concerned, I have the whole film on my hard drive as one would suspect. Would be happy to review it with you and have you show me what he did in that game that would indicate he's not a solid football player. I watched film of Dalvin Cook and Joe Yearby in preparation to play them and they broke a lot of tackles and ran for a lot yards against a lot of good teams including the #1 team in the country Booker T Washington.

What did you "teach" him about thi....nah nevermind...you're a waste of time. Go fist yourself.

Chad, How many times did you go to Golden's office to talk to him about your son or other players? I know if I was a former player or coach, I would have made the first move instead of blaming someone else.
Your son only wanted to play CB and the Miami staff saw him as a S/OLB, correct?

Yes, my son has been trained as a cornerback, thinks like one etc. He likes playing football and is not stupid. If he couldn't hack it as a corner, his alternative would not be to ride pine. Not sure how the staff saw him because we never had that conversation.

"go fist yourself?" Who's taking advice on raising kids from this guy? LOL

Will your resentment against coach Golden and his staff carry over to your current student athletes?

My resentment never carried over to student athletes. I tell them the truth. The funny thing is that before being disrespected, I lied to kids about Miami because of my obvious bias towards Golden. I bought in as many of you did when he came on board.

Now I just tell the truth as I do about every school and that's what I am supposed to do. As fans that's tough to swallow.

What supposed "lies" were you telling to help Miami and Golden? As for being "disrespected", that seems to be the problem with the SFL mentality of players and coaches. EVERYTHING short of being coddled and catered to is being "disrespected".

I'm not paying for anything. But tell me why you think this dude should get a platform? I'd love to hear this.
Never said I think he should get a platform, just saying I'd rather have a former player get a platform to speak on a Free Canes site than Robinson get a platform to speak on a Pay Canes board...given the two situations.

Read more gooder, and comprehend even more gooder.

brought players to his champ the first two years he was on the job. Worked both of those camps.

Finally an honest response. The butthurt jumps from the page. Entitlement mentality rears its ugly head.
