De aren’t inside DT . How many 5 stars have we landed . Scott
1. What’s the title of this thread?
“DL Recruiting”
The DL is comprised of the DTs and the DEs.

2. The quote that you replied to was my response to the tweet that cited David Lake saying no one had recruited trenches better. Trenches means both sides of the LOS.

If you want to carry around a hard on because we haven’t landed multiple five stars at just DT, go for it. However, you can miss me with that venom.

Just stating facts elite de but DT below average

Their are other DT's who names Miami hasn't put out yet and also with some other positions which I have mentioned. Their are a few players we are circling back around on. After our bidding contest with A&M, I now wonder if A&M will pay what's needed for Brown. Hopefully, we atleast drive LSU up tomorrow. I am afraid LSU is going to pay whatever it takes for this one.

People looking at an expanded board as a bad thing. I think the only bad thing is our board wasn't large enough to begin with. We need high-potential dancing bears in numbers. You can't find enough of them that are turnkey, they're too rare. So, yeah, go after the Jared Harrison Hunte types that played BB until their sophomore or junior year in HS.

Hopefully we land a Scott level, or at least a Jones and Kennedy level every year. Ideally 2 a year. We also need to stack, skim, stack, skim until we build up that room.

F🙌ck off dork! Don’t you have article to write or something. I’m going to go ahead and trust my opinion seeing as I played the game versus a news head like you. Lol
F off Dork? 😆 News head? What does that even mean? Why are you so desperate to tell the world you played? Why are you so certain that I never played? Are you trying to tell me that you have the new College Football 2026 game? Why don't you put the syringe down? It's making you irrational. Want proof? Your opinion is the same as mine. We may disagree on the most minor of points. You started all this for nothing. Look! I really am so sorry for saying that you belong in a rubber room sipping on a lithium shake. So what do you say we bury the hatchet? You know, smoke the peace pipe? I'm going to be really disappointed if you tell me that we can't be friends.

I’m not desperate for anything, but I played the game unlike you. So again like I’ve already said, I will take my opinion seeing as I played the game, versus a kid like you that never did. So go write an article or something and leave the football evaluating to people that actually played the game. 👍

You were awfully quiet on this topic in 2024 when we hauled in the #1 DL class. Has it been where it needs to be? No. But save us the it hasn’t been prioritized enough as we’ve pushed with numerous elite players on the DL and just haven’t landed enough. Big Joe was a liability in recruiting and we are still chasing too much. Mario knows how important the DL is and it needs to improve
DT is so important that it must be recruited at elite level on a yearly basis. DTs need a year in college for their bodies to start maturing. We did well in 2024, but not in 2025 and 2026. We are now 2 years behind the curve in DT recruiting.

Not being in the SEC and not winning at a high level for about 20 years have been proffered as reasons for our DT fails. These are excuses for losers that I don’t buy. If we have the $$ like we are told we do and with our pedigree and national reputation, we should win our share of these battles by paying up for now. You have to do what you have to do to win. Pre NIL, we used the bagman excuse for losing these players. Now we have new NIL era excuses.

LSU was at the verge of losing Lamar Brown, but they upped their NIL at the stretch to make sure they don’t lose him. They did what they had to do. No excuses. Relatedly, we will probably lose Keys with these excuses, but we better not lose Derek Cooper.

If you’re not gonna recruit DT at an elite level then you better develop the 3 stars and send them to the league. W’s and L’s records plays a smaller role than sending kids to the league or becoming all Americans. Neither are currently happening, and it’s not close.

Not me I’m looking the last three years at DT as mediocre and de is elite . That needs to change . We got Scott and jones out of highschool . We ever miss in the portal we’ll have to move all the extra ol we have to DT which it’s not a bad idea if they’re big and athletic. I would they down of the extra ol at DT if they have what it takes . We have took like 40 ol the last 3 years 😂

Whether we’re signing “Elites” or 3 stars we need to be throwing more numbers at the position overall but especially with the latter. We need to be signing an average of 2-3 HS guys a year (2 pure DTs or 3 if one is an SDE we’re projecting grows into a DT) yet over the last 4 classes we’ve signed about an average of 1 pure DT and 1 SDE per class.

With those numbers the margin for error is already slim but after losing Horton and determining Blount is going to stay at DE we desperately need to over recruit the position. Doesn’t matter our W/L record, draft picks or not being in the “SEC/Big10 there’s no reason we can’t sign more guys to widen our margin for error.
