DJ Johnson

"Oregon has coaches that actually care about me as a person and want me to grow as a person whiles also growing as a football player," Johnson told ScoopDuck. "That’s rare. They also feel that I can help change the culture of the team and improve the defense that’s already been improving. Lots of love felt already but more than anything I’m looking forward to gaining the trust of the players and coaches on and off the field."

Stop it with that comment though! Hope it wasn't a shot at Richt

Best of luck to him. It seems like he was never happy here, I'm not sure why he didn't just stay out West to begin with

I just read that part and said the same thing. Love this place. We are on the same wave length. Only thing I would have done differently Op was place in the ongoing thread on DJ. Hope you don’t get burn at the stake for but hey, great post [emoji1417]

When I think about Jim leavitt the first thing that comes to mind is compassionate and caring. That cares about his players as people first.

Yeah, it’s going to require a special waiver from the NCAA which is rarely given. It’s possible, but not common. Unless that rag says the NCAA already gave him the waiver it’s more likely he sits next year.

Johnson sounds super soft in that interview. He used a family condition to get out of playing for Miami. Kool didn’t baby him and he seems to be a sensitive kid who didn’t fit in.

Trying not to read too much into his quote, but can't help but wonder if there was some friction between him and the coaching staff at Miami. Probably has more to do with his ego being bruised as Garvin was ahead on the depth chart...[/FONT]

In other words, Jonathan Garvin took my lunch money. Jim Leavitt seems like the warm and fuzzy kind of guy. Good luck with that DJ.

He still ends up at defensive tackle.
